what a cool gift. And man, those details came right out! excellent job!
  2. cool sheath and design. I like your video too
  3. Wow, should've seen my first "wallet" ! Just keep going and practicing! And remember to have fun!
  4. Looks more classy than a paper clip!
  5. on another side note, the CZ is one fine under rated firearm. A buddy had the Shadow and it was really sweet; heavy and solid but boy it was fun to shoot.
  6. So sorry to hear of your loss. I wished I lived closer. It may be a bigger pain in the butt to do so, but pictures will help you. Lots of folks on here maybe could help you with some of the pricing but again, pictures. Good luck
  7. Looked like a fun project. I have two cobblers hammers I found from an estate sale. These have larger diameter surfaces though. But not as pretty as yours.

    Krampus

    Looks great.
  9. Phew! I have enough to keep up with!!
  10. Looks very nice.. I like the two tone and stitching. The button clasp, too. I made like the one above with the "Chuck Dorsett" look, but with the belt loops it looks way too chonky so I don't wear it. It' mainly a 'show and tell' piece on my work bench for when friends visit me.

    Getting Smaller

What a cool idea. The creativity never ceases to amaze me on this forum.
  14. @JLSleather thank you for your sage advice.
  15. I like this idea, just don't really know anyone who is into leather crafting in my area. I think there is a guy down in Texas City that makes holsters, though. Thanks for the idea. But may i ask, when ordering in bulk hides, do they all have to be the same weights? I really don't know but another good idea. I'll have to check the yellow pages, er, internet.
  16. Thanks @Northmount I got a reply from Techsew .
  17. I wished I knew a few guys in my area that would be willing to go in on something like that....
  18. Wow great color combos right down to the thread. The craftsmanship is strong with this one!!!
  19. Thanks for sharing that picture. I only have Tandy stores near me and the wrinkle look is all they seem to have so I thought that was normal.
  20. Man, you have a boss workshop!
  21. Looks great for your first wallet, though
  22. Not to mention the inevitable price increases.....
  23. Maybe it's just me, but I do have an expectation that when I buy ANYTHING new it should work out of the box. Sure, a little adjustment here or there for reasons of customization (which is alot of the side conversations here are about) and also when I call the vendor after buying something new I would also expect someone to pick up with hopefully a smiling face/voice.
  24. I'm still waiting from a response from Techsew customer service that I sent on the 16th. It's just for a part and I guess it doesn't rank as importance as would a new machine inquiry but boy I can only imagine much trouble I would be if I didn't answer an email in almost a week. I am going to give it a few more days before I send a reminder but gosh, I didn't think I had to.
  25. I was kind of curious, too. I've never used NFO, just plain olive oil (I don't think they're the exact same thing but.... ) and was never really sure of where in the steps to do this. I generally apply my oil after I do any tooling but before dying. It seems to work for me. I tried once oiling after dying/painting but I think I was too impatient and didn't wait long enough for everything to cure and smeared some when I applied the oil. I'll have to try again and be more patient. That's one of the things this craft teaches you, is patience... now if I would only listen! That said, I think it's interesting where we have two solid contributing forum members sharing their experiences and best practices and they have their own steps in how they produce their superior products; each is a little different but both have great results. Bottom line, with a little experimentation you will also create your own steps and best practices that work best for you.
