  1. I got a test for it coming up. I want to make a tote bag out of some re-tan water Buffalo. It has a real soft hand & kinda stretchy. I think it might struggle on this stuff a bit.
  2. Thanks. I might learn a thing or 2. Plus I find it kinda relaxing watching people sew.
  3. Thanks for your feedback on the tandy moccasin pattern pack. I'm glad it is a decent pattern & I got small feet. So it might be a good pattern for me. I just ordered a bunch of tandy pattern packs because they had them for 40% off last week. Lmao I am not sure what I all ordered.
  4. Better than I probably could do. Heck if you wanted, I bet you could make a wood form to fix/straighten out the pair you are wearing there. I think they look OK, that gives them character. I'll look I might have bought the tandy pattern pack for moccasins. I'll look.
  5. Guys & gals I was curious if there is any cylinder arm sewing techniques videos out there. Basically I'm looking for videos on how to sew leather projects on a cylinder arm sewing machine. Basically looking for different videos on how users of a cylinder arm sewing machine, manipulate their projects & such when sewing it together. Thanks. Any & all greatly appreciated.
  6. Yeah I should have added that to my comment, that I put it under my slab to reduce noise. Guy will be amazed at how much it helps to tame the noise.
  7. Can anybody tell if the cobra class 26 shares any needle plates & feed dog with any other machine? I am just curious if there is anything available for them. Thanks.
  8. I see alot of these famous/well experienced leather guys put a cut up cereal box under their slab, lol most of the time it is a beer box thou. Some I have seen put a piece of upolstery leather under their slab. Like 1mm thick.
  9. Thanks AlZilla. When I got the sewing machine out of the box, the top thread was looping on the bottom of the leather. Did not matter if it was thick or thin leather at that time. I'm not sure if the upper tension knob backed off while in shipping. Or it was from thread routing thru the pin on top of the machine. I suspect if I was to wrap the thread around it & go thru multiple holes on it. It might have corrected my thread tension.
  10. Thanks. Yeah nobody mentions in vids what the other 2 knobs are called & actually does/controls. The silver knob & black knob on bottom left that is.
  11. In the 1st set of pictures on the 2nd Pic, that is the leather puckering on the back. Believe that is due to presser foot tension too high. So here is a couple more pics of the same piece of leather in different lighting.
  12. Ok guys & gals I believe I got it straighten out. 138 bonded nylon Size 22 or 23 needle. I have not verified needle size. 1.02mm chrome tan upolstery leather folded over & sewn. I believe for testing purposes on this thin of leather I got it as good as it can get for my given thread, needle, & leather selection. To correct thread tension from out of the box. I tighten silver knob 1/2 turn. Then i tighten black know a touch less that a 1/2 turn. Here is couple pics of stitching.
  13. It would help if we all knew what industrial sewing machine in question? What machine were you asking about.
  14. Guys & gals I finally got my cobra class 26 up & running. I have a question regarding the thread tension knobs. I watched Al Bane thread tension adjustment video & I can't tell in the video which knob he is adjusting. There is 3 knobs. I think he adjusted the big black knob in the center. My top thread is looping on the bottom, telling me to tighten my top tension. Can somebody tell me which knob to adjust 1st? Also the silver knob is completely loose. What does it control. Is that some type of fine thread tension adjustment? Should the silver knob have some tension on the spring that is behind it? Thanks any & all help will be greatly appreciated.
  15. As soon as I get around to installing the cutters blades. I will report back with my thoughts. I did watch this guy cut saddle skirting with it & I know it wasn't designed for that. But it did cut the 14-16oz leather saddle skirting.
  16. Thanks rk. I will try to get a look at the saddle this weekend. Then I will kinda get a idea of what they used & what direction to go. Thanks.
  17. Thanks. rk. I appreciate your expertise. I think I may have chance to look at the saddle again this weekend. I will try to remember to check the billet tie hole size. Thanks again.
  18. Thanks for posting the link. Lmao I do everything from my phone & haven't figured that out yet.
  19. If you decide to do another sling. I think weaver leather carries the 1907 sling hardware.
  20. Thanks kgg. I might look into setting my machine up with the extended foot lift lever/bracket. Especially if my foot gets tired.
  21. Ok I think I figured where that extra bracket/lever goes on the class 26. I think it might be for or to offer a different lift option for the foot. Possibly for a knee lift setup. Here is couple pics.
  22. @Wizcrafts so if I am reading & understanding this correctly. That black lever/bracket is something to do with the chain foot lift? I took a couple pics of my machine, because im still at a loss. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
  23. Does anybody know where this piece goes on a cobra class 26? Looks like a bracket and or a actuating lever of some sort. Thanks.
  24. Yeah! Took them 3 months to get here!!! at 7mph! No the freight company that delivers, I have them just sit in the trailer. Makes it pretty easy off a lift gate.
  25. Yeah it hasn't moved for a long time. Tell me about! I'm glad I set my alarm for 6am. I have almost got it assembled.
