  1. No the ones that came on the Ferdco Pro 2000 machines has a snout with a thread wiper where the thread comes out of the pot.
  2. Your welcome, a new machine can be a hair pulling, foot stomping, tool throwing puzzle. When you want to change sizes or colors of thread cut off and leave enough thread to tie your new thread to then take the thread out of the needle and pull through to the needle. Cut the knot off and thread your needle and your ready to go without re threading everthing.
  3. For 138 thread and smaller i use the same on the top and bobbin. Anything bigger i use one size smaller on the bobbin. I would try setting tension on the thinness thickness you want to sew and see how it works for the thicker things. It's pretty rare that i adjust my tension from one size thread to the next.
  4. People maybe like me and didn't even what the machines looked like because there must be several hundred maybe thousands different models of Singers. But when i took a look on the web they look like home machines to me. You might be able to sew some thin leather but that's it. To answer your other question yes you sew turning the wheel but it's going to be slow.
  5. I'm not sure what's happening with the resolene because in 30 years of using it i never have had it make the leather hard has a icky feeling when it drys. I put mine on with a sponge. Never have used oil dye so i can't help there.
  6. Get a small plastic coke bottle, drill a hole in the top and use a piece of sheepskin to spread your glue. When your done stick the sheepskin to the top of the bottle. They work great i used them for 20 plus years.
  7. I use the cardboard off of cold drink and beer cases. It works fine, when i make my patterns i glue two pieces together and cut them out. They will last a long time.
  8. The left toe foot will hit the studs. The right toe foot will be off of the collar.
  9. No you won't be able to sew next to the studs like you have in your pictures. The foot will hit the studs and throw you off. But you can sew first then put the studs and conchos on.
  10. I couldn't find a very good picture but i think if take the screw out that's holding the winder you will find it has a wheel with a tire on it. You made need a new tire or just need to clean that one off.
  11. Thanks Tor, somewhere along the line during three shop moves i lost my manual. Now i need to print it out.
  12. On my machine i get a piece of chap leather 3/4 ounce and fold it to set the tension. When i have the tension set i hardly ever have to change for what ever thickness i'm sewing. I use a 200 size needle ( it may be a size 25 their should be both numbers on your needle package ) on 277 and 207 thread no problem.
  13. Hope nobody from the post office reads this.
  14. It's a post machine used to make shoes. It will sew maybe a 1/4 inch thick piece. They are really nice to have around for lighter weight projects, but it won't sew two or three pieces like you want.
  15. Try another size bigger needle and see if that helps. I have some white thread and some tan looking thread that just won't sew. In the past i have sewn a couple hundred spools of thread and i will get a spool that won't sew now and then.
  16. I have had and may still have some awl hafts that the blade just sticks in the end of the haft. Pictures i have seen where they used that kind they put the blade in between 2 pennies and put that in a vice and drove the handle down on to the blade. All of the blades i have seen have ridges on the blade to hold it in the handle.
  17. I wouldn't do it. Tell them to buy the stuff and do it their self and sell them for 20.00. That way the make all the money. Bet they find out it's not as cheap or to do as they think.
  18. I think sewing the bag wrong side out and then turning it right side out is causeing the problem more than anything. I'm guessing that's what your talking about when say inverting the bag. In my IMHO opinion you need to using chrome tan if that's the way they need to be made.
  19. Make a second paper pattern and write right on one side and wrong one the other do that to both patterns so both patterns are facing the right way. Plus it helps you have less waste when your laying out on the leather. Poster board is a lot cheaper than leather.
  20. If for reason it doesn't lock, drop a small ball bearing in the hole and it will lock. That is what i did on mine 20 years ago.
  21. I seen this on here, cut a sponge to fit inside my pot, then cut a slit in it for the thread to run in. Put your lube in the pot and sew. Don't over fill it and it works great.
  22. I got it a few months ago and it killed my computer because i wasn't / didn't going to pay a ransom to maybe get turned back on and not.
  23. I don't think you will ever bring it back to life. At a certain point it's just done and you do more harm trying to fix it. Best thing would be to measure the one you have and make a new one.
  24. I've seen people on here get their panties in a wad over less than that first joke. You asked what people though and I told ya. It's you site so do what ever you want.
  25. I would change the color of the fonts on the top bar, their hard to see and like Tom i had to look to find them. On the page with your products their needs to be link to bigger picture, with prices and measurements. On the joke page i would take the first one down. It didn't bother me but i'd bet good money it will offend some people and they may just leave. JMHO
