  1. Never seen anything like that before. I'm guessing you made them that way for a quicker draw ?
  2. Thanks for the link.
  3. I just put a roller foot on my 31 15 and it works fine.
  4. I use a head or round knife for 99 % of everthing i cut. Their just like anything else it does have a learning curve but if you stick with it you find it's a lot easier to use than a utility knife IMO.
  5. I have both types and having both is handy for different things. But if i could only have one it would be the cylinder arm machine
  6. I'd go to a sewing class and learn to make a jacket out cloth before i tried on leather.
  7. Make your pattern out of stiff cardboard or the stuff Dwight is talking about put left on side and right on the other side trace and cut.
  8. Billy Bob it's none of my business but i would pay a little more and get the 16 inch arm machine. Nine inches sounds like a lot of room but it can fill up pretty fast.
  9. On my machine a Pro 2000 i run the thread straight through the post no wrapping. Then through the wax pot through the guide to the tension disk. Then down the second disk and go one and half times through the guide then through the spring and up through the take up lever and on down to the needle. I've done that ever sense i had my machine and it's worked fine for 20 years. You should be able to change the angle of the pot to where it's in line with top tension by adjusting the screw that holds the pot on.
  10. If it has a place for a post i would get one. Heck i might drill and tap a hole if it doesn't have a place for the post to screw into. When you thread it i would try going through the thread guides one time and straight down on the top tension disks and one and a half like Bob shows. In my eyes you have nothing to lose trying that to see if it helps.
  11. I've sewed with the pot on top for 20 years and never had a problem. BTW: I believe the Cowboy machine would work with the lube pot. One time around the wheel would not cause bind. I guess the post on the Cowboy is added tension and does away with the double wrap. Am I close in my observation Cowboy Bob? Why does it make any difference between a Cowboy and a Cobra machine ? Their the same machine just different colors.
  12. You have a grinder ? If you do put a buffing wheel on it and it will work fine. Remember to keep what ever your buffing below the center of the wheel or it will take what ever your buffing away from ya.
  13. Had the same thing done last year and a whole new world opened up. I wore glasses for 50 years and now i only have to wear reading glasses for fine print and work. When i was working with one eye done i found that closing the bad eye really helped on doing somethings.
  14. That is a interesting machine, heck it's all interesting.
  15. Your welcome. I've had my pro 2000 for 20 years and i figure it just getting broken in.
  16. Call any of the dealers that sell the look a likes and they should have one.
  17. It says it's a American brand on the machine.
  18. I think i read on here where somebody said to use corn starch to adsorb the oil. Not if it works or how well it works because i never have tried it.
  19. I've always just took a string and pulled it around the pulleys marked the string where the ends meet and measured then got that length belt.
  20. Nice Job !!! How fast does he have to go to break the record ?
  21. Cut the poster board in half roll in a circle and squeeze the top till you get the shape you want tape it in a couple of places. Then mark a couple of small lines on the board. Untape draw a straight line and cut it out and you have your pattern.
  22. Make a pattern out of poster board and you can get any shape you want.
  23. Get a left toe foot and guide. I bet Bob has them in stock.
  24. I would back the tension off to nothing and start over. Then adjust a little at a time.
  25. The snout is on the left side facing the machine or that's the way it is on my machine. The pot is just like yours except for that.
