Wow.. is that RIA THAT MUCH different from other 1911's? I have the Springfield full size, EMP and micro, as well as the colt commander .. and this cook's mold is markedly bigger than all of them.

Not everybody cares for them, but if a fella wants one it would be nice to know where to get one, and if someone got one (or more), and was happy with the work, it seems quite pathetic NOT to refer the person who did a good job for you. Seems like occasionally (at least) a guy could do something for the next guy without having to "get something". Maybe an attachment makes it a little easier to spot? stamp.pdf

I'd like to see the pics! Got a fella, I'm makin' him a belt holster. Messaged yesterday, says he wants shoulder rig for teh same gun as well. Didn't want to hear I don't do those SO, who does these? I told him I'd put some 'feelers' out, maybe I make the holster somebody else make the harness? He wants SOFT leather (whatever that means) and I dont have the equipment to sew that stuff (or the space to put any). Says he's 6', 190 lbs, wears a 42 jacket -- in case that means anything to sewing people

Yeah, I hope I didnt sound like there was anything "wrong" about it... if the belt goes the other way that's a simple fix! If I changed anything at all, I might put a crease down the sides of teh belt keeper loop - make it match that nice looking belt

KnifeKits boys say that the "colt 1911 compact" on their site is about a 4" barrel, closer to the commander than the defender. FYI

A light texture is all that's needed... in fact, doesn't need to be particularly deep..just let the texture show up the UNtexture much like a white dot in the dark Or git all fancy, taper the depth out from the design much like leather matting... Ball end mill about 1/16" would do it, though could prolly git by with 1/8" - then just.. well, kaint share EVERY trick

Here's mine from @amleather (Alex Moreau) It took a long time to get here on the slow boat, but came out nice...I've hammered it quite a bit and also use it in the press with great results. The attached pic was the test impression he sent me before shipping out the stamp. Also attached is the proof after he worked up the design on the lettering to give a better impression... Oh, yeah, that works. With mine, I want the logo RAISED, and some seem to be tripping over that. Since mine is rounded design (embossed look, not square sides) a fella could do that pretty easily with a ball end mill, but I dont see a lot of that going on

You'd have to ask the stamp makin' folks, but I would think it's okay. Maybe make it a black/white image. And specify a size you want. Most of em say "high resolution", but I suppose high is different from one to the next. Still, I'm guessin' any of them folk kin re-enter your image in a form they need it purdy quick.

Is that the RIA? Teh defender and micro and emp is all 3", and the ruger and commander is 4 1/4.
