  1. These are what typically would be used on older and some new needle positioning motors. Either one should work.
  2. Singer 7-33 has two issues that come up if you've seen enough of these machines. The take up lever hinge screw if it becomes loose, can break the casting or threads. This is why Consew and Seiko have a removable take up lever bracket if this happens. On a Singer, it's a much bigger deal. Now, when the Singer 7-33 breaks at the beak, it's just about done. I've seen brazing that has held up over time on some repairs that come in that I guess hold up, but it's not a machine I would buy to rebuild. Once in a while someone will over tighten the race saddle that has a single clamp screw through the casting of the bed. This is a problem too, but only if someone decides to over tighten this. Some of these were from the 1930s and offered as a extra heavy duty canvas machine with a maximum presser foot lift of 9/16 inch. Most are doing much more than that now with very heavy presser foot pressure.
  3. I have at least one machine with this issue, and it has a cloth timing belt as well with no replacement. Otherwise bulletproof machine.
  4. The bent part is the take up lever cover that will easily bend back into place. The REAL concern is the take up lever, and I can't see if it's there or not from the poor quality image even after blowing it up. It may have snapped off. New this item sells for over $280 so buyer beware unless you are looking for a parts machine.
  5. I'll PM you with a guy in Australia who has a Seiko SLH-2B.
  6. 228-11 is the new version of this model from Consew. All I could find is that is close to this one is a Consew/Seiko PWG-7M, same frame but with added chopper or edge cutter. See attached Consew PWG-7M.pdf As for the needle CLICK the link, 134S, DP-F22 Needle The needle system is as confusing as I've ever seen for a machine, and that's saying something.
  7. See attached, this is what you are asking about. Singer 111W155 uses a worm gear. Timing the preser lifting eccentric.pdf
  8. 226R is as good as any machine. Basically a Singer 111W155 with reverse made by Seiko in Japan.
  9. Those prices sound very reasonable, both are very good machines. Consew 206RB-3 made in Japan was really super great out of the box, old world Japanese quality.
  10. Motor is a Ho Hsing, CLICK HERE for their downloads section for your specific control box and motor.
  11. I do see two different numbers, either one is going to work fine. The issue is likely elsewhere. If the needle is not centered, that's a different problem.
  12. 104-64 is a really nice machine, we sold a few many years ago.

  15. Looks like we need a decibel meter for this one. Jokes aside, the machine sounds great.
  16. What model Reliable motor, they have SQ4000, SQ5000, and the SQ6000 are going to take a different pulley. The current model is already a 60mm, no sense in going to any more than that.
  17. Sounds like it's an old (very old) J and K external clutch motor that uses a continuous run motor. Cork is what is most commonly used here, a lot of dealer still have these on hand and can order them for you.
  18. See attached JUKI DNU-241HS Parts List.pdf Juki_DNU-241_owners.pdf
  19. Juki LZ-2280A is not a heavier capacity machine in any way than the Singer 20U. Both are for garment or textile work and threads. As for the take up mechanism, I can't think of a better example of a crappy take up design than what's found on a Juki LZ-2280A. There maybe someone out there who likes the rotary take up on this or any other machine like the Singer 400W, but I have not found one operator or mechanic yet who favors this over a traditional take up lever arm.
  20. See attached, this is a known issue on this model Juki DNU-1541S. Juki DNU-1541S Hook Supporting plate install and adjusting.pdf Two ways to fix this; heat the existing hook supporting plate red hot and hit it with a hammer to bend into place. This part will break and not bend if you hit it without heating it. Another is to get and modify say a Consew 206RB supporting plate, and use that one instead that can be 'adjusted' by bending it closer to and from the hook.
  21. Singer 20U made in Japan is really good and hard to find. Consew Premier 817 is also made in Japan, and is also a really good quality machine.
