Pressure foot issues with Cowboy 3200
Northmount replied to TheHollerLW's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
My guess is not the foot itself, but the balance between the inner and outer feet. I doubt that the foot is too long. There are others here more expert than I am. Tom -

Pressure foot issues with Cowboy 3200

Did you buy from a dealer or second hand? If from a dealer, you should be seeking help from them. This machine should have been sewen off before being sold to you to prove it was adjusted correctly. Tom -
I wouldn't add more oil. To much and it will be a soggy mess. You could let it sit for a few days to migrate and level out. If that doesn't work, and it is soggy, you can remove some of the oil by burying it in floor dry or other absorptive material (kitty litter, corn starch, saw dust). Stir it up every few hours and over a week or so, the oil content will be reduced. Tom

Some cases diagnosed as carpal tunnel are actually problems in the shoulder. Note, I said some, so don't take it that carpal tunnel is fake. It really is a problem for some as you see above. I know a woman that had carpal tunnel surgery on one wrist 3 times and even with trying to avoid tasks that would irritate or increase the risk of its return, it still kept coming back. She was finally referred to an assessment clinic where they look at all the possibilities. Her problems all originated in her shoulder and propagated down her arm. I don't recall the treatment she had, but think it was physio for the most part because I don't remember her having another surgery. Anyhow, it's no longer a problem for her. To bad our doctors aren't all perfect! Would help with so many of our complaints! Tom

You can stop notifications by going to your profile. Click on your username in the top right corner, pick account settings. Under other settings pick "Notification Settings" and tick off the stuff you want, or un-tick the stuff you don't want. At the bottom of the screen, one of the settings is " Play a sound when I receive a notification ". Hope this helps for any that don't want the mp3 file which I assume is connected with "Play a sound ...". Tom

Need help from the leather community...
Northmount replied to hatrabbit's topic in How Do I Do That?
It's a good idea to add your location into your profile. Then you can get help from people local to you if need be. A picture would help people visualize what you are working with also. @YinTx could you help this person out with a few pieces of scrap? Tom -
@leatherguy71 Moved you post to leather sewing machines where you will get more exposure and info. You can use leather point needles 135 x 16 for sewing leather goods. But not for fabrics as they will cut textile threads. For thread and needles sizes, look at this chart. https://www.tolindsewmach.com/thread-chart.html You can purchase needles through vendors that support this forum. They are listed in the banner ads at the top of each page. Each time you refresh the page, it will cycle through to more ads. Tom

Just gets you more exposure to people with lots of leather sewing machine experience, which is good for you! Tom

I have a jug of NFO that must be 40 to 50 years old (or more, back to the days when most farming was done using horses instead of tractors). It was stored in an unheated shed and subject to a temperature range of -40C to +30C. It was originally in a glass gallon jug, but had been moved to a white plastic jug like used for motor oils. It is still good. Had no problems with it. Tom

You need to resize the photos. 800 x 600 pixels or a little larger is quite adequate to view on the web. And you should be able to post 100 plus photos in one post! Take a look at this post. http://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/15122-how-to-post-pictures-on-lw/?do=findComment&comment=551171 Tom
