  1. Thank you for the info Mr. Blea, I will have to search for that article or something similar. One more question, did you cut with swivel knife then do the pear shader and cam?
  2. I love it. Many forget how creative stamping can be. It looks wonderful. How did you come up with the pattern. Did you draw it out first and then decide on the tools to use. I would love to know your steps in creating this design. I love stamping. I like doing unique things like you did. So creative is what you accomplished with this wallet. Thanks fro sharing.
  3. I use Fiebings tan-kote on the backside of my leather and apply with the grain of the leather. It works for me and keeps it smooth. Just my suggestion might not be your answer though.
  4. Wonderful!!! Your craftsmanship is stunning! The colors are wonderful go so well together.
  5. Try Ohio Travel Bag here is the link http://www.ohiotravelbag.com/index.html
  6. Very nice, is that your own pattern?
  7. Very nice, clean lines, you did a wonderful job. I love the color too. Nice elegant but simple hardware too.
  8. Tugadude, yep you are right, I do use for stitching, nice to be able to sit it on the table and stitch or lace. It works well for me.
  9. I recently had this custom made by JW Craftsman here on the forum and wanted to share some photos. I use it for holding my wallet parts when burnishing and stitching. Jason helped me with the design and dimensions. It is 12 inches long and 6 inches tall. NOt including the base. It can be tilted to either side to meet with my needs. It is made from cherry wood and works well for me. I no longer have to struggle with my burnishing methods I use to use. It even has cork all the way thru to prevent marring. I just wanted to share my new toy with you and here are some pictures.
  10. I agree, try the bag stiffner from tandy, I use it for many things besides a stiffner, makes for great patterns too.
  11. Very creative, the coloring, the style of carving and your stitching are very artistic. Love it!
  12. Very nice scoop. I always look for leather stuff at thrift stores..
  13. Thanks everyone, hopefully the next one will be better. I have a lot of ideas for more.
  14. Both for edge slicking and making crease marks on the edge. Works well once you get the hang of it.
  15. Just finished this up for myself. Wanted to see how well the pattern worked. The spine is inlaid with ostrich leg leather and laced with 1/8 natural calf skin lace around the main part. I wanted a chunky look so I went with the 1/8 lace. The inlay was stitched with some fine lightly waxed thread from japan. It worked well for the first time using it. Same thread on the pockets. I used a air blade on the pockets just to add some light texture. I lined it with orange pig suede. Colors used: Eco flo yellow and bison brown on pockets and medium brown gel antique on the front. I used carnauba cream on the pockets and satin sheen on the main part. I also applied Fiebings Aussie on the lace, it gave it a nice glide thru the slits. I don't post picture often but thought I would share this one.
  16. I like when my leather has scars and such, like Halitech stated gives it character. Just use your imagination and you will be surprise what you come up with.
  17. That looks like block dying. You warp a rag around a sponge or wooden block, add your dye and then dab off the excess and lightly apply. Tandy has a video on you tube you can watch for free. Just search tandy block dying
  18. Very nice, are you going to paint or dye or antique it.
