Adler 5 A 25 - Operating Manual & Help Needed
Constabulary replied to CeeCee's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
The Adler 5-25 (not sure what the subclass "A" is) is a machine with driven top feed (with toothed presser foot) combined with bottom feed. BUT is it also possible to set up the machine as top feed only - seems your machine is set up this way. I cannot spot a feed dog. But it should be possible to install a standard needle plate and feed dog. The predecessor of the Adler 5-25 is the Adler 105-25 I attach a data sheet here. Presser feet are a bit of a problem for this machine as they are using feet with a special shank hight. Not sure how your foot looks like but they are usually toothed. I think I have a some accessories for this machine but most will not be suitable for holsters as this machine often has been used in for special applications in the shoe trade. I have to look for the accessories and send you a PM when I found them. If you need a manual google for Adler 105 manual (file is too big to attach here) l, the machine is the later model but technical features of then remained the same (not all but many). adler-0105-6-8-25.pdf -
if the broken off pice causes no technical problems I would glue with a good epoxy like JB KWIK Weld. I did that twice. Drill some holes in casting and the broken off piece fill them with JB Weld press in a bit smaller dowel pins put some extra JB and press the parts together. Advantage - don´t have to rip apart the machine no need to apply heat and no grinding off welding seams, its fast and a cost efficient DIY my 2 cents

the wire thingies are spare brushes for the motor and the cork pas a brake pad for the motor I would say..

We don´t know what you bought so some pictures would be helpful. "Sheet metal housing" could also be the oil drip pan. I guess you bought from a dealer, right? I would check with him.

sounds a bit funny - you sold one too big machine machine bought another smaller one (from a dealer I guess since it is reconditioned) w/o knowing the capabilities? The dealer should have told you. Adler 69-373 can candle metric 130 / 140 needles but we do not known the subclass of your machine or how it is setup. If it is a binder machine (we don´t know what you bought) it could have a too small needle holes in the feed dog. Most binder machines are set up for 120 needles or smaller.

Got a Pearson #6!!!! wee hooo!!!
Constabulary replied to plinkercases's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
The "wrong" oil will not kill this machine... I use 10w40 oil and this is the chain spray. I also use the chain spray on the the inside cam on my 29K71 and thread lever cam on 45D91 and on gears that usually run in grease filled gear boxes (like Singer 133K / 132K) . It´s just what I use not what the manufacturers recommend. I´m no lubricant scientist and i´m not smarter then the manufacturers - this is just what works for me. -
foot lifter, "gas pedal" and reverse I guess. Nice find! It last lots of similarities with the Singer 144 EDIT: Uwe was faster

I also think the #6 loves a bit heavier oil / lubricant. I use clear synthetic chain spray on the cams and rollers and motor oil on the rest of the machine. I do not use standard sewing machine oil on the #6. When I restored my machine and did the 1st test it even ran smooth w/o any lubrication. -
126x11 needle specs? (For 111W117).
Constabulary replied to dikman's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Needle system 190 should solve the issue, its 4mm longer. 126 seems to be an uncommon needle. However my needle bar is not hitting the inner foot with 135 needle. Is for what ever reason your hook tip too low - probably because of the 111w117 had trimming device? Meaning if the hook tip is deeper the needle / needle bar has to go deeper too - don´t know just my 1st guess. Can you compare with your other 111? 190R http://www.dotec.com.tw/product_detail.php?p_id=61 135x17 http://www.dotec.com.tw/product_detail.php?p_id=33 -
Damn - not a Singer... https://www.ebay.de/itm/MAMMUT-Stutznacker-A-7-72-Industrie-Polster-Nahmaschine-Steppmaschine/292709234042?hash=item4426d4757a:g:n2QAAOSwIrVbNLhT

it´s tempting Meeen - this seller is cheating! But seems to be a standard part - no problem, maybe I have one in my spare parts bin or I make one out of JW Weld

Singer advertising: "Collapsible pocket size sewing machine for your sewing needs when traveling or your holidays abroad" If some one claims mine is bigger then yours and you have this machine in your shop - you know he for sure does not know yours I think this is probably is a machine where my small Singer crazy mind say: "No - you really don´t need it!"

335 predecessor? Or has it a shorter arm? Never seen a 305 - but I guess a lot of 335 parts will fit.

Singer 111w list of subclasses & sales brochure
Constabulary replied to Constabulary's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
it had a trimming device but I think someone removed it. Is the spring on the back just missing or are the "rest clamp" for the spring on the outer foot bar missing too?? -

It´s time to post some pictures of your machine -
If they do not ship to Ireland - try a mail / parcel forwarder

Singer 111w list of subclasses & sales brochure

nope - don´t have it -
I haven´t even threaded the 46K46 - I know nothing about it - really - it rests next to a 246K16 serger on a shelf and is collecting dust. I (yet) have no work for both machines but want to test them one day and you never know what they could be good for. Sometimes and idea pops up and then you need this or that machine... And just heaving the heads does not take too much space. Recently I met a lady in an IKEA store and had a random small talk and she said: "Better to have, and not need, than to need, and not have" (a Franz Kafka citation by the way)

I understand that! Lots of people over here are sick of their government too - and its not getting better. Just yesterday they promoted the chief of the intelligence service because of several frailties - What - kidding me ? Sorry too complicated to explain the whole story in English. They really provoke it and scratching their head why they are going to loose (or already have lost) a lot voters. And that is just one sample... ** deleted what else I wanted to write - don´t want a political discussion here ** reg. 2 years - I take that bet - lets bet for 2 packs of 135x17 / 135x16 needles (no Chinese needles - they will be to expensive then )
-
I would not count on that - you never know - when a new player / competitor enters the game the price could drop again. it also depends on how much a dealer already has stocked. If you have a good number of machines in stock you can hold the price for a while and in 2 years (most likely) you have a new president anyway and then cards are being reshuffled again. Time will tell.

The singer has a stitch lenght adjuster! Thats a big bonus I think! It looks a bit like my 46K46... I´ll post pictures in a minute... EDIT could well be that the Strobel´s are relabeled Success (Allbook & Hashfield) machines...
