  1. Sadly, I need a little help with the driving. My days of driving 1200 k's and only stopping for fuel and drink are well and truly over. Used to drive from Ceduna to Norseman over night, once a pond a time. Bert.
  2. She who must be obeyed sometimes would not let me buy any more machines, if she had to sit in the back. Bert.
  3. As I said before there are a lot of people here that know a lot more then I do and I have learnt so much here and wish I found it before I went to the school of hard knots and wasted good money. If you have a question, please just ask, it would be a rare thing for some one not to know the answer. Bert.
  4. When I pick up a new to me machine, I put the head in the car, normally behind the drivers seat wrapped in an old sheet on the floor, (if it has a sump I drain the oil and sit it back in the sump). Then I remove everything on the top of the table and remove it from the legs, leaving the motor and other bits in place, turn it upside down and place it on a old blanket in the back, undo the legs if I can and put them with the upside down table. Bert.
  5. cdthayer posted this some time back, "Four years ago, I tried to get Harry to take another look at his bull$hit about how “the Needle Crank lever should press the Tension release lever to push the pin that release the tension during the stitching cycle” (my post is at his Youtube video), and he didn’t reply. He replied to another guy and said that he no longer had the machine and couldn’t look into that person’s problem. Your needle crank shouldn’t hit the tension release linkage at all. Look elsewhere for your thread-breaking problem. CD in Oklahoma" Unless Harry had a SV 31K15, but to me it appear to be a normal Machine and if Harry cannot admit or clarify what he was talking about, then Harry has gone down in my opinion. Bert.
  6. Can you use a more heat resistant PLA or Nylon with your printer or would you have to upgrade to a different printer? Bert.
  7. From memory this has been discussed before and sadly Harry did not know a lot about this machine as the pin he is talking about is the pin in the Tension adjuster and is moved but lifting the foot and not so cam some where. I was asked to correct this, but sadly he has not, so this myth still goes on. If you need any information about the 31-15 or 31K15 just ask this forum, as there is a lot of good peop[le who know heaps more then I do. Bert.
  8. Thank you Jimi, I found these very interesting reading. sonni , I was going to make the pictures into a PDF, but the Pictures need to be resized as they appear to be of different sizes and I don't have the time at the moment to re-size them to the same size. Bert.
  9. I brought feet for my machine from Aliexpress, maybe they have the feet for that model? Bert.
  10. If the Keestar Adler copy is half as good as my 105, then it's a good machine. Bert.
  11. Those prices are better then dealer quoted prices, now all you have to do workout which one to deal with. I wonder if you could ask if they test the machine before shipping? Bert.
  12. That is all and good if the prices are competitive, but when there is up to 100 percent difference, then that is save me anything in the long run? Bert.
  13. I have found that if you have your belt tension to tight, it will make it stiff to move the peddle. I slacken the belt so it is just tight enough to turn the pulley without slipping, will help. A new grippy belt works a lot better then an old hard belt. Bert.
  14. Crates can be treated from the outside, if needed, but if there is wood internal, then it has to be dismantled and the user must pay for government workers must be paid for their time and the treatment. And do we pay for our government workers time. Bert.
  15. This looks like a good manual, https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=11&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjx7vDAndLlAhVx6nMBHdQcAogQFjAKegQIBRAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.supsew.com%2Fdownload%2FMotors%2FSV-71%20Instruction%20manual.pdf&usg=AOvVaw11SGZikA-rUO25H94as_Hf Bert.
  16. I agree the Aussie dollar is low, but even when it was good the price difference was the same or greater. I have been importing sewing machine parts and needles and motor bike parts and accessories for many years and buying retail and paying postage from the US is still cheaper much then buying retail in Australia. Bert.
  17. Sadly, it seem to be normal in Australia for most dealers to charge more then other countries for Machines Parts and Accessories and Threads. Bert.
  18. These Shuttles must have clearance to allow to thread to pass around between the shuttle and the driver, if they don't the thread will not pass between them. If you want the machine to use large thread the more clearance it must have and clearance equals noise as the driver pushes the shuttle one way them back again. Bert.
  19. I have an Adler 105-6, which uses a similar type of Shuttle and when I first used it I thought it was worn out, it made what I thought was a lot of noise, but as I used it more I got used to the click clack and I can tell if my tensions are out by the sound it's making or not making. Bert.
  20. Let us know how you get on, I am still using the last of my leather belts. If you can run them without the belt being to tight, that would be great. Bert.
  21. If you check your needle shank and length, it might be the same as the Speedy Stitcher and cheep replacement. Bert.
  22. I looked at your photos and looked at my Speedy Stitcher and thought maybe a earlier and fancier version of it, but I do not know what it could be used for, maybe Sail making? Bert.
