  1. Thanks Marlon, Ill give that a shot.
  2. I have been using the tandy contact cement as of late. Seems to do the job pretty good. I did run across the contact cement they have at Lowes (home improvment store) and grabbed a can of that stuff. Not sure of how it works yet as havnt tried it out but it is cheaper if I remember correctly.OK now that I looked the tandy stuff is just rebadged barge cement so probably same issue there. The stuff I got at lowes is Weldwood gel formula contact cement. Gonna give it a try on my next project and see how it works. It was 5.48$ for a 16oz can
  3. OK so what order are you suppose to go in when you are basketweaving and need to do the edge all the way around. I usually cut the boarder then bevel it then basketweave stamp the area then go along the boarder with a boarder stamp of my choice to finish it off. This doesnt allways give the correct results or looks as good as I wanted. Is it better to not cut the boarder at all and just scribe a line? Should I bevel last?
  4. Have not done it but I would suggest a little heavier leather. Probably 6oz if you can, this will be stronger and will keep some of the weight down. You could probably use the one you allready have for the overall design. Throw ina bunch of your own designs and such and a little bling like some conchos or some lace or something. Sounds like a really cool idea. You sure he wont mind all the extra attention he'll be getting at the shows. Ooops 2-3mm, I wanst reading corrrectly lol.
  5. LOL and you were having problems, man that is very nice, you did a great job. Nice work with the backgrounder as well. When I first started I kept trying to do celtic designs on projects that were way to small and kept getting frustrated and throwing stuff away. I had to go bigger at first and started working my way down in size. Getting better but I also know my limits now so I can slowly push them instead of trying to stampede thru lol.
  6. Thats not a bad idea at all. Strictly a leather related only auction house. When people want something made of leather they go to the leather auction.
  7. Congrats too a great finished product. You should buy a couple of beers for whoever got that triweave stamping done, that is a really good job.
  8. Thats a very nice belt. I like the contrast you got with the white stitching. Very clean looking overall. Good job.
  9. Very good job on that one. You did an excellent job of everything. THat was a nice touch using the screw conchos, gives a little extra touch.
  10. That is a nice gun belt. It seems to have paid off to do the mixing and get that final color. That looks really good.
  11. That looks really cool, does the flap just hang over, theres no closure device correct. The finish I like also.
  12. Nope dont know but do you by chance have that link. Also sometimes you can use translaters too a extent/
  13. You know scissormedic I found the same thing with the ceramic blades. When I got mine I was really surprised at the cutting edge. I had scene a few ceramic knives that were stunning on how smooth and sharp they were. Now after about a hour of getting it dialed in it is great but they could of used a little better finish from the factory.
  14. Great now I have a whole bunch of new threads to look thru, LOL thanks for bringing them back as I joined right after the crash so didnt get to see all the older stuff you guys had here.
  15. Thats great, sounds like it will work just fine then.
  16. The only thing I can add is if you can or are able to sand or grind just the area that your glueing too. This will give a much better surface area for the glue to hold with.
  17. OK now I understand, thats what I was confused about in the earlier post I did. I have never thought of doing that before. Very nice holster also.
  18. I like it as well, you allways have a really clean nice work.
  19. That is a great idea and looks great. I just hope if he ever needs it (hopefully not) that the paramedics will realize to look inside of it.
  20. Yep thats it Crystal, thank you
  21. I cant seem to find the thread but its in here somewhere. Someone made a really cool one with the world map style image on it. Turned out pretty neat.
  22. That would be great.
  23. I must say that is a very interesting cellphone case. I think I am gonna have to try and make something like that. I can just imagine the looks you would get wearing it

However the most recent were working in aviation for a few years before joining the navy, been in the US navy for the past 9 yrs (mechanic) and will be getting out in a year and a half (by the way any of you law enforcement types hiring lol) at which time Ill be on the adventure once again. Probably should retire from the navy but dont think I can handle another 11yrs of the worst bordom you could possibly imagine. Sometimes you gotta wonder why people do some stuff.
