I don't buy there. Too expensive for what I need and want. Most of my veg tan comes from Spain, which is top notch quality. The last double-bend I bought through my wholesaler was 1.6 m² and 5 mm thick at 120 EUR. We should see a little price drop by the end of this year in Europe. I doubt it will last for very long, but this should be the result of this year's dryness.

Very nice work the bag as well as the pictures! Some things are really expensive in Poland. Is that including shipping or the price at your local wholesaler?

The texture looks good. What I don't really like are the knots. I think you could improve them by at least showing a core and in regards to your texture I would expect cracks in those kind of knots. However the texture you used for the knots isn't what I would have used as "clean" knots would show very clean rings. In your case the rings would be more of an oval shape and the core out of center as the branches came out in an ankle. You could achieve this easy with gentle knife cuts. Just something like this:

When it comes to tack I'm a friend of plain and practical, therefore I prefer the last ones. Is that a 3/4" strap?

That's a great machine. By the one you dropped you probably meant the one on the back, about a third in from the left side. Seen worse. Should've seen my first stitching...

Don't want to say that any of this is wrong. Personally I don't buy of Tandy. There's nothing I couldn't get in a better quality for the same or better price at a different place. That being said, better tanneries, make better leather, but the two pictures are showing leather from two different areas of a hide. While the top one is off of the side or the back (rather the side where it goes over to the belly), the bottom one is of the belly and it's kinda normal to get such fuzzy leather from this area. You just might have been gouged there. Belt leather should come out of the back area. If that's the case then the texture looks like the one on chief's picture. The neck area also serves for good belt leather, but stretches more than leather from the back.

I've used suede goat in the past. Very thin and works just perfect.

The woman and the dragon are my favorite. I don't know whom I gave this advice before, but if you're to eager to bevel, while your leather is still too wet, you really should stroke the bevel with your stamp to smooth out the walking marks. Just by the looks of it and I could be very wrong on this - the background of your chair may have been too wet and you didn't stamp it down to the depth of your cut. Some of the cuts don't have to be as deep as we intend to make them. The horse's right hind leg could use an extra bevel. Looks like it's attached to the left side or the belly thus far. Also if you'd emboss the nostril you'd get more depth into your picture. That's at least what I would do.

What ever you ask is up to you. If you believe it's worth that much, than this is it. Hopefully a buyer will think the same. Personally I'm seeing it more in the $95 range, but I've seen other belts not as good being offered for $200.

I'm using the alcohol based dyes as well and have to say that the color rarely comes out as shown on the chart. Lots of it has to do with the leather being used. It had better results when I swiped the leather with some alcohol to get some saturation. This being said, in your case I would probably try to mix the green and blue pro (oil based) dyes and apply it with a moistened sponge. But honestly this is just a guess.

wendlynne, thank you so much for your input. You brought up some things I haven't thought of yet. Microscope isn't an issue as I have a very good relationship with my vet and her input is invaluable to me. Further the felt will be custom made to my specs, once the series rolls. I found a great manufacturer after some thorough market research. Till then there's still a lot of research to be done. Regarding a wither cutout one has to know that this can cause pressure points if it's not matching the horse (wither area) and saddle. So a general one-fits-all cutout doesn't really work. Due to various breeds and body shapes the contoured pad is a bit tricky for me, but I'm working on it and may have to come up with a pad suitable for that and that breed... Anyhow I'm getting there. Thanks again for your input.

POM is the material you're looking for. It comes in all shapes and colors. The little amount you need could be found on eBay. Other than that there aren't any limitations for the handle. What ever you like to use...

You might want to review the various types of leather. Garment leather comes to my mind for this and in this specific case I would use goat leather. Durable yet comfortable.

Just to confuse you even more. The same goes for the E and for the D. But even though I think it's a plate.
