  1. @Josh AshmanThe M&G threw me. I know about that formula. It just did not reboot when I read it. It's my intention to transition to that formulation upon finishing the bottle of Bag-Kote we now use. Thank you for your knowledge and openness about your work. Hope your day goes well also. But you make great works from supposed mistakes. That ability can't make for so many bad days. Be well.
  2. Some of the background stamps are tiny, for projects like yours. Try finding a few of the smaller ones. I know it gets expensive fast. But its hard to drive a nail with a sledgehammer. If it matters. Love both of your pieces. The texture looks good for a mistake. We were asked to make some rune inspired work this past weekend. I started to study a book we bought a while back yesterday. May I ask if the rune pieces are wood or leather? And the size of the pieces? Thank you for sharing.
  3. Many times you can find one in the style you like, at a yard sale or flee market for a few bucks. They make good and accurate patterns. I bought several old shop aprons for the misses to use as a starting point for my work apron pattern for $3. If you go to such places it may be a good start. Also Craigslist will direct you to ones local to you often for a song.
  4. Great sheath. I do like the inventive choice of the backgrounder. I would look at the knife as well if it was posted. Thank you for sharing.
  5. Another beautiful piece. And a nod to the handles as well. Thank you for sharing.
  6. I like it. I suffer from perfectionism. It is nice to see someone just bang out a functional piece and go with it. I would carry that as a messenger type bag to hold a book or tablet with my phone and keys. Keep up your work.
  7. Very handsome work. I really like the color combinations. The tooling fits the piece and just looks like something I would want to own. Great "total package" product. Thank you for sharing. I think it would be great to carry into battle if one was a Munky.
  8. I recently took shipment for a .375 x .750 basket weave stamp of excellent quality, made from stainless steel, with a large comfortable handle. It was made by Barry King. It makes a wonderful impression and has my initial engraved into its face. It was about $80 with shipping. My stamp is about .125 wider and .250 longer than the normal basket stamp. It cuts my impressions by 25% and still keeps things in perspective. When I asked about the available sizes, the machinist I was directed to speak with told me they had made some in the .750 x 1.500 inches size. Mr Kings reputation for customer service and dedication to quality is the stuff of legend. www.barrykingtools.com will put you in touch in with them in one form or the other. Go well.
  9. @garypl If you suddenly need rid of the Consew. I am within a day trip drive from you. Laughing. Enjoy your finds Sir. Hope the refurbish goes well.
  10. No idea about saddles. But if a company offers email as a contact, and then does not monitor that email account. I think it speaks to the way you can expect to be treated as a customer in general. Just my 2 pennies worth.
  11. Nice work. Very unique. Thank you for sharing. May I ask the sizes?
  12. Good work. I am screwing up the courage to have a go at my air brush. I wish I could find the courage I had in my youth. In those days it seemed I try anything. I often made it happen. Now I doubt myself so often. Never quite figured out when that happened. Anyway. Good job and thank you for sharing.
  13. Great work. I need to make a few of those. But I have not yet come up with a way to cut all the X's without doing so on the scroll saw. After seeing yours maybe its coming time. Thank you for sharing.
  14. @Sheilajeanne If you want to cut to the part that pertains to your situation go to about the 10 minute mark.
  15. Just read this. WOW. Great work Sir. Thank you for the insight. The croc skins are gorgeous. But not nearly as much as the bags they became. Awesome talent you have. I understand the memory issues. Some days it seems I search for the thing I am working on more than work on it. Go well Gene
  16. Ignoring all the other issues involved. If the Boss looks around and sees an opportunity to make an improvement, but can't make said improvement himself. The first place to look outside of himself is the most qualified person working on his team. Take it as a compliment. If you want to make yourself a pair of shoes at the expense of your own time, materials and energy, do so. Your success would certainly be a feather in your cap. Both personally and professionally. But I would be "damned" if I ever made a pair for his shop without a significant raise or percentage of profits. I hope you find your inner peace what ever you decide to do. Go well Sir.
  17. Beautiful work. Thank you for the insight into production thread as well. One day I hope to do work like this. Go well and thank you for sharing. I do have a question. Is the left six shooter antiqued and the remaining two not, or is it a lighting difference?
  18. First post asking for help. I am considering buying this machine mainly for it's ability to cut sole bend material. The seller who I trust, says the cutter seems to work as it's supposed to. On the chance that I decide to fully restore it. Are parts available? Pictures show the missing parts section. Mainly the skive knife and the hold down, I think? May be more missing, I do not know. Does anyone have a manual and or parts list? And or know if and where the parts may be available? Or should I just keep using my band saw? Thank you guys in advance for any help.
  19. Beautiful as always. May I ask which black dye you use? Wonderful finish on both pieces. Thank you for sharing.
