  1. Thank you everyone... Wow... I guess I will hold off and have to investigate further. Since I don't have a machine I hand-stitch my holsters and Knife sheaths I make. Thanks again for all the good information. Vikefan
  2. eglideride I was thinking of getting myself a CB-3200 for light to medium work. How thick was that welt on that holster/project you show in your picture above? Thank you, Vikefan
  3. Is there a machine that could sew holsters, knife sheaths and small thinner leather items like wallets, or would someone need two separate machines for that duty? I'm thinking welts as thick as 5/8" and thin as wallets with liners. Thanks, Vikefan
  4. I am trying to decide whether the "Duke" Holster pattern I worked on over the weekend is close or not. I would like to gather some responses on whether you think it is close or not? I posted a picture of the original being worn by the Duke himself. Thank you all, Vikefan
  5. Very nice! I was going to do some this year, but could not locate good bells soon enough. Great job!
  6. Looks great! Did you machine sew the holster or hand-stitch it? Awesome job!
  7. Awesome work and it looks great! I have a question. What stamp did you use. Kinda looks like a Barry King cresent shell stamp, but what size? Thank you, Vikefan
  8. Go to YouTube and look up stitching chisel vids. Nigel (from Armitage Leather, England) tries many different brands and does reviews on them. He puts holes in leather with them and hand-sews and show you the finished look you can get from them. Here's a link. I hope you find it helpful. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Stitching+Iron+reviews Vikefan
  9. From what I can tell by looking at his holster, I too would be it had a toe plug. Many this style do!
  10. l love it! Well done!
  11. golferdw Here's that pattern. I don't recommend using the velcro to keep the roll closed. I use snaps or the ball/slot method (not sure what it's official name is called. Please see attached files. Leather Tool Roll part 1..pdf Leather Tool Roll part 2..pdf Leather Tool Roll part 3..pdf
  12. I have a pattern, came in a Tandy flier or Hidecrafter flyer years ago. I will have to find it an scan it and post it. Not sure when, as I'm in College again full-time. I am up, as I cannot sleep. I've made 5 of them so far, getting better each time. LOL. Vikefan
  13. Now that is cool...Very good job!
  14. I believe my version was for the 2 3/4" version, but should be close, for you to modify as needed. I tried looking at this, and it only shows one part of at least three I'd posted in the past. Let me know what you get. 15. I have one of each, Barry King sz 2 and Ron's Edger sz 3, and both are very comparable to what they take off your edges. As for the Tandy's, they make two different versions, One rounds the edge, the other squares it off. I don't like the squaring off versions of their tools at all, I hate them, but have a full set. There are Youtube vids out there to help you keep them sharp. Hope this helps Vikefan
  16. Yes, Here's the picture of the finighed holster on the person I made it for.
  17. I put one on here a while ago. Back around mid August. These might not be uploaded in order. My apologies. 19. Just finished another tool roll. Take a looksy. Vikefan
  20. Hello, I recently saw a video on making binder covers and am searching for the center portion, so I can rivet in the 3/9 ring binder into a leather cover I would make. Any Ideas on where I can find such a thing? Vikefan

    Christmas Ornament

My first ever hand tooled and painted Christmas ornament. Any suggestions for me to improve and any words of advice are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Vikefan
  22. I'm needing to find 1" alphabet stamps, if at all possible. Mainly I need two stamps in 1" size an "X" and and "O". Nothing fancy just straight versions, not antique or western style. Thanks Vikefan
  23. Here's the rig being worn, and I did make another .45 Cold Slide for it, under the left arm. I think it's supported, as I have a piece on the back sewn to holster for the two 1" rings on either side going around the waist. I will modify my pattern ever so slightly on my next version. Thanks for all the inputs and suggestions, they are much appreciated.
  24. Man', that is one awesome purse! She will definitely love it! Congrats on an awesome purse. Vikefan
