Haversack

Great Job! Great design and layout also! I would stay away from Plastic on such an item if used in field. Looks like a plastic clip closure and those can break, especially in cold weather, or if stepped on. Otherwise looks great! -
I made my dad an axe sheath the hard way, long distance. I am in Alaska, and my parents are in Minnesota. I had him trace the outline of his Camp Axe (Norlund), and my mom emailed it to me. I then came up with the idea of buying some clay, and making an axe replica from the clay. Once it hardened it shrunk, so I had to add some to get it to the correct (approximate) dimensions as the original. Here are a pictures of the Sheath pattern I designed for the clay replica I made, and the last picture is the finished sheath on the actual axe head that I mailed back to him, that he received two days ago. Please take a look and feel free to critique. Thank you.

Do you have a special hammer? One for leather work with a polished smooth head? I have thought about getting one of those, but haven't yet. Thank you.

Thank you. I did not take a picture of the edge, but it is welted. The leather I used is a soft oiled leather from scrap boxes Tandy sells. I did run a spoon, front and back over the stitching to try to get them to lay down a bit more. I am not sure why it still looks bunched up. I beveled the edges using a #2 from I believe Barry King? Thank you for your great feedback.

I finally designed, worked on and then finished my sheath for a hand forged camp axe I got this time last year. Feedback is welcome. Thank you,

Where to get good leather, Tandy's quality of leather is going down IMO.

Recommendations For Cylinder Bed Walking Foot Machines
Vikefan replied to Vikefan's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
Thank you for everyone's inputs on a Cylinder bed sewing machine. One major dilemma I have is; I live in Alaska.. Shipping/service would be about non-existent. I am looking to sew double thickness belts, holsters, leather purses, etc. I currently own a tippman boss, but have never used it... It's mounted, but just haven't used it. Thank you all, Vikefan -

Amazing Work!!! You are a true artist!~! Vikefan -
Simply AWESOME!!! I love playing pool also... I have two old George Cue cases I own. One is a two/four shaft and the other is 1/2 shaft case. The bigger one has a zippered pocket, the other does not. I've had them for years and an old Schon cue with two shafts. What did you use for the inside? Thanks, Vikefan
