  1. Welcome the the board,I think if all kids were Cub Scouts we'd sure have alot less problems with them as they grow up. My Son & I were both scouts & it sure was alot of fun. Bob
  2. Years ago we used to extend the arms & make them 20" long,we would sell them for tarps & auto upholstery, but nowadays everyone thinks they need reverse(because their neighbor told them to make sure it has it) I have a real nice one here they are real good for nylon webbing too. I'd be real happy to find it a good home. Bob
  3. Chris, We have both the metal & prewounds in stock. Bob
  4. Well there's at least 18 models in the book I have & the 269w26 is a Tacker meaning it has a cam the controls the # of stitches & the pattern. This model makes a stitch like what's on your jeans on the belt loop. 28 stitches from start to finish . See scan below. Bob
  5. Mike, I'll have to agree w/Kate they won't sew real thick leather & since the top foot feeds the leather it has teeth on the bottom that willl leave alot of marking on top (where you want to to look nice),they also have a very small bobbin. They are great for small repairs were it doesn't matter what it looks like in work boots, shoes & etc. I'll give you a call monday. Bob
  6. Trox, Sorry I got busy & was out of town all day yesterday,I just returned your pm,I do you have paypal? Bob
  7. I'll try to help,if you take out the bobbincase the part that's left in the machine is the shuttle,it spins around when the machine is sewing,it rides in a groove this is where the oil needs to be put,in the groove around the outside I always tell people this is the highest wear point in the machine so I'd say give it a drop every time you start to use the machine & then every 1/2hr of sewing just a drop. Parts are hard to find for this so oil the whole thing often. Bob
  8. Mike, I know about them & the story is that the factory got bombed during WW2 & it was never rebuilt.I hate to tell you but parts are real hard to get. See the pic of the one we have. Bob
  9. These feet will work on all 45k's that don't have a walking foot. Ken, Yes,the roller foot allows the leather to feed batter because it has less drag then the standard flat foot.It also lets you get real close to the needle on the rightside. Bob
  10. I can get the belts for the roller feet, most other parts are still available for the 236 also. Bob
  11. Aloha Wliie-Joe, Welcome to the site. We visited on your island about 10yrs ago & I didn't want to leave since the weather is so nice compared to Ohio. Bob
  12. Glad you found the site there's as you can tell there's alot of taleneted people here. Bob
  13. Welcome aboard, there's alot of knowledge here. Bob
  14. JLS, The 16-188 should sew close to 3/8" w/o any problems. What is the machine doing? Bob
  15. Art, It sure is great having someone that can lift more than you around huh? When my son gets a 441 ready he tells me to just stay out of the way & he opens the box dumps em out carries to the bench just like I did when he was little. I tell him like the old timers told me it'll lifting heavy stuff will make an old man out of you I guess they're right. I do still carry 2 at a time though. FEATHERWEIGHTS!! Bob
  16. If your needle is approx 13/4" long I have some for you if it takes a longer needle which it did from the factory they are pretty hard to find & it would be best to adjust the needlebar down alitle so these will work, We stock them from sizes #14-25 Bob
  17. The 7-9 would be the best one to but since it has a walking foot. Which spring do you need? Bobbin winders aren't a problem.I'd take some featherweights in on trade for a couple of bobbinwinders!! As we all know I would much rather buy a Featherweight & have to carry it than a 7class! Bob
  18. Hello, Welcome aboard, this is a great sire full of alot of talented people that are ready & willing to help. Bob
  19. Welcome Nancy, It's great to have another buckeye aboard & your work looks great, have fun. Bob
  20. Welcome, You sure forund the right spot for sewing leather. Bob
  21. Years ago(20-3-) that's all we used to sell for a leather machine were 7-9 &7-34 they don't feed the best but seem to get the job done most of the time except if you want to reline a saddle the feed system in them isn't good enough to pull it through. We'd pay 3-500 US for them clean paint put parts, table, motor, reducer & even reverse in them & sell them f/$1,850.00 And at that price we didn't make alot of $$ but sold a bunch of them. But with the new imports that sew 3/4" out of the box we can't sell them anymore. Most psrts are still available for them too. Good Luck! Bob
  22. Andy, I knew you wouldn't have any problems & I'll bet your hands aren't as sore when you get done w/a holster? It was a pleasure working with you & as you know if you have anymore questions just let me know. Thanks, Bob Kovar P.S. I can't wait to see some of your work either.
  23. I have some 97x3#26 & 97x4RTW#27 left. Bob
