  1. They are at Mount Cotton out near Capalaba, takes me about 50mins to get there from my place. From their Webpage: Open 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday at 130 Kingfisher Road, Mount Cotton QLD 4165. It is easy to miss them the first time, as it is run out the back of a house in a shed on a big property. The sign out the front is fairly small as well which doesn't help finding the place.
  2. EastCoast Leather had whole Crocodile Embossed Veg hides. I loved it. Just didn't have the money to get it when I was in there last week. Remember to put that it is embossed not real. As some people out there will think it is real. I think $60 maybe a little on the low side, $70-80 I think.
  3. I really like that stamp, I would say more dragon scales than snake skin though. But I love both. Well done
  4. - Traffic count can vary, The last open day they had approx 2500+ visitors, but that was a 3/4 day Open Day with stalls. So possibly expecting maybe half of that 1000-2000 maybe? - I was thinking snaps or Chicago Screws. I will probably have about 10 different buckles as well as different sizes of buckles (25/32/38/50mm) & belt strap on hand. - Yeah was going to punch on site if required as well as have a selection of pre-punched standard sizes made up. - I was thinking to have a selection on stitched only and stitched and stamped belts and collars in stock, but only a small amount to showcase what I can do, the rest can be made to order after the market. This is one of my latest I have made up for a customer.
  5. My sons Daycare Centre is having a twilight market stall and they have given parents first dibs on stall. I have decided to try my luck and sell a few items. My main items I make are Belts, Collars, leads. My question is..... How many belts, collars etc. should I make to be able to sell. I'm pretty sure I will be the only one there with a leather craft stall. The stall is only for 3hrs so I'm guessing I don't want to over stock and not be able to sell what I make. My only overheads will be the liability insurance for the day, material costs and my own labour. I'm thinking about 5x Mens, 5x Ladies and 10x Childs belts (5x boys & 5x girls) as just a plain stitched and riveted belts in 3 colours. And 2x fancier belts each, with bigger buckles, more stitching etc, and maybe a bag or two as well if I can master my trial one I'm making. Would this be enough? as I can do made to order as well after the market. Thanks in advanced. Damien
  6. Thanks for the info Richard, Yeah though that may be the case, trying to find that thin leather is a hit and miss over here from what we are finding out after looking at one of the suppliers today. And I have been sent a pouch already which I intend to use the insert from for the phone required. Great video, thanks for the link, I have saved it in my youtube favorites for when I start the build.
  7. I have been asked to make a phone case with card holder for my Brother-inlaw, Problem I am having is how do I make the card slot section? What would be the best thickness leather to use, and what do I use for the backing for the card slots? I need it to have 4-5 slots with a pouch behind for notes pretty much the same as the picture attached below. Thanks Damien
  8. Hey Tom, Bringing up your old thread, What would be the best thickness of leather for this bag? Im really keen on making one to see how I go, The leather Im looking at is approx 2.5mm thick, would that be thick enough?
  9. They do that here already, the police don't even have to press anything anymore, their in car cameras automatically scan cars as the pass them or are behind them, then flag them if needed alerting police if there is action needed.
  10. A nice old trees stump with the belts hung on hooks would look great, or a nice display cabinet similar to this one but better, done with some nice oak or pine board, with some nice antique brass hooks
  11. I still find it amazing you have to have proof of insurance paperwork in your car, In Australia ours are included in the cost of our registration and can be read by the police at a touch of their computer screens to see if we are registered and insured. Great work on the folder, might need to do something like that for my car as I have paper work, tools for work, camping stuff, more paperwork all through my car.
  12. Love stories of re-homed greyhounds, would love to get one myself, but cant at the moment. Coat and Collar look amazing, would love to see more pics of how you done the collar and how you lined it.
  13. Looks really good, love the mix of roman numerals and modern for the date on it,
  14. I really like that one too, I love the colour effect, Is it applied with a paint brush to get that effect?
  15. I like this a lot, I need to get my backside into gear and make something like this for my business cards. Great work on the dye work.
  16. Awesome work, the tooling is amazing great work. Inspiration at it's best.
  17. Im the opposite, I quite like the riveted look, But other than, your belt looks great
  18. If you have paint on your PC you can resize a picture through that as well, it doesnt effect the quality much either. I usually resize them by down 80% which brings them to about 200-300kb each
  19. We were up at Rathdowney all last week and left just as the rain was starting on Monday morning, looks like we left just in time as Boonah looks like they got hit hard with rain.
  20. WOW they are awesome. How do you shape the ears and antlers and get them to stay in the shape required?
  21. YEP, it was hot today and looking to get hotter this week. looks good, and the centre piece looks good, makes the rest stand out. Really like the cog patterns you have used. p.s. How did you go with the storms up your way?
  22. Yep, the dad has been tested to 400kg pulling strength, and the son is a lot bigger and has heap more strength. Going to make his collar this week while out camping. This is the dad and the collar I made. (not the best pic will get a better one soon) This is the son
