  1. o take the number of holes in the bottom and divide the circumference at the stitch line of the outer piece by that number. That will give you the space between each stitch. Example 10 holes in bottom, outer circumference is 20 cm =20 cm / 10 holes in the bottom piece = 2cm between each outer stitch.

  3. i use an awl to make the second hole. example i use a chisel for the holes on the bottom round then use my eye and my awl for the other side. spacing them farther out as needed. do you have a round form or something to put inside the object to hold the shape while sewing?
  4. There are some variables to the 'period' southern Cali or northern? What years ? after 1849 gold rush days or before which would be more Spanish influence. Southern Cali in the early 1800s would have had mostly Spanish influence while after the gold rush of 49 and farther north trends would have been more European influence.

  8. I have some leather like that it holds the stamp great but not much color. was ordered and given to me by a friend but came from "the leather guy" whoever that is.

  16. beautiful work indeed, i am also making collars for three American bully pups, mine, lol. the first tries have already been ruined by them seems they can pull real hard lol. One snapped the d ring the other snapped the latch on the leash. They are only five months old. make sure you have a welded d ring.
  17. those old craftsmans were built to add an accessory jointer i would love to find one of those somewhere.
  18. what i found also It does resemble regular leather lace as it is woven flat and appears to be about the same thickness and width of leather lacing.
  19. how old is your pattern/ instructions many times things have been renamed over the course of time. or maybe scan the instructions so we can see how the word is used, it may help us to understand what you are attempting to make.
  20. The first real shop tool, for wood, I ever owned bought it for 100 bucks about 10 year ago. I love that thing it is an animal compared to modern junk. Most of my wood work had been by hand tools also. Your pony looks great!!
