Dogs That Eat To Much Leather!
chuck123wapati replied to mikekratz's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
dogs have been chewing up and eating leather as long as leather has been made. once in a while I'm sure it doesn't go well. kind of like the person that chokes on a piece of chicken and dies, one in a million. Now man made stuff like Kgg is talking is a different story altogether I had a black lab that couldn't pass a bunch of foam from a seat cushion she ate and needed help, she about died. i have four dogs none eat leather one used to bite the leashes in half to get loose, they all eat wood and will shred 4" logs just from nervous energy. except for my Beagle she shreds small sticks lol. One thing i have learned from my wood chewers is carrots will suffice for the nervous habit and is very safe for them to chew up. My dogs love carrots lol go through a bag a week. I love dogs! -

There are crooks everywhere there is money my friend and the more money the more crooks. Auto makers have spent years selling the same cars by adding a new widget every year as an upgrade while making any technological advancements for their manufacturing costs/ bottom line not for the consumers and if it does happen to help the consumer then it also costs more. As well they have made almost impossible to work or even know what is wrong with your own car. Think for a minute why does your cars brain put out a "problem code" only the service center can read when it could just as easily print out the problem in English so you could read it too. Buyer beware you did good!!!!

They are leather use what you would use on any of your leather boots dependent on the climate and use. But ask the elephants permission first of course.

ahh i see your quandary your chopper has an enlarged beard lol., but I don't see how your gonna get past the balance problem using the front of the blade maybe that hole in the back or the heel of the blade could be used. I have a couple of hatchets my solution was to make a drop in type sheath. they work well and you can add a flap or mod the design to fit about any blade shape. Nice chopper BTW!!

first day of summer here finally lol. My oldest daughter is on the mend, just got her last drain taken out and here picc tube day before yesterday. I cant describe what a surreal ordeal this has been for us and now its over just like that. One of my other daughters just turned 21 yesterday, our tradition is to cook anything wanted for the day. So i started off the morning making strawberry crepes from scratch, yes even the whipped cream, then fried wontons and sweet and sour chicken for dinner oh and she had to have her first mixed drink strawberry daiquiris lol. Funny thing my birthday is on the winter solstice and hers is on the summer solstice. Man i cant wait to get back to some normal finally and try out this new fishing license, do some quiet sewing and some loud blacksmithing. Take care my friend hug yer dad and I hope you enjoyed that lamb. -
no fears my friend my wallet is empty too now after this last three years.

I tried that. I like the idea of a closure on wallets. i put a flap over mine instead of a strap to hopefully keep all the dirt and crap out but it didn't help much. Seems a wallet can grow or shrink with the amount of money and or cards stored in it so a fixed size strap or flap is just a guess at best lol. Mine became loose over time and a little funky from living in a pocket, the dirt still gets in, I work and play a lot outside. but it still works as a wallet that has character lol. BTW the theory that a wallet can give you back problems when put in the back pocket is true. I had troubles for years then started putting it in my front pocket and my back problems vanished.
