  1. welcome !! you may be giving more advice than getting lol your work is really nice.
  2. those are soooo cool my friend, i would love to have one. Man it makes me miss my old Jeep and a couple of other old trucks i used to own. so much character in those old vehicles that new junk just doesn't provide lol. breakfast of champions!!! smothered with syrup!!! oh yea
  3. im for one retention strap and a belt loop.
  4. i like the design and your work, a guy could wear it cross-draw. he's gonna have hell with that snap behind his back.
  5. I call that a good start. it works for the job intended.
  6. thanks for that info on the wires. A dc generator would be nice too.
  7. i had to laugh yesterday i went to The local tractor supply to get some feed. First thing i saw was scalloped belt hanging on the rack.
  8. the Wright brothers, Thomas Edison and Steve Wozniak all saved a alot of money too! Saying just throw some money at it isn't that easy for some folks that have much more free time than they do free money. Spending 200 bucks isn't free any way you look at the subject so no need to argue that point. Now if a guy considers his personal time as money then with that thinking just buy the damn sewing machine already to go, why waste time buying a servo.
  9. maybe if you have any small meat processing plants or wild game processors businesses, or friends that hunt, in your area they may be able to help you out. the biggest pieces are along the back and usually trimmed out.
  10. interesting! I'm going to have to check some of the new stuff out i guess. I don't use it much anymore. I have some real stuff i collect during hunting season if i need it.
  11. its about time you showed back up. beautiful work as always!! doing well in school i hope.
  12. it doesn't appear to be real snake skin to me the patterns appear to regular and there are no seams between pieces. Are you sure it not just embossed leather?
  13. Simply use the time you waste every day, its free too. You could also look at it as taking a class in engineering, what would that cost? From my perspective its also free education so a double win.
  14. i did a short search yesterday and only found one manufacturer of artificial sinew. They are in the US, my guess is most re-sellers even the native Americans in Canada sell the same stuff made by the same company. Artificial sinew is made to be pulled apart and used just as the real sinew was also pulled apart for different sizes of thread so getting sinew that doesn't have that property is going to be hard. Native American used real sinew for everything from backing on bows, cordage, to sewing baby mocs as well so it was separated to the size as needed for the particular project. artificial sinew is also made so it can be separated.
  15. you can always polish the one you have if you can find something small enough.
  16. sounds like the perfect place to live.
  17. https://www.weaverleathersupply.com/products/heritage-rivet-burr-setters they all do the same thing so there isn't much dif just how much you want to pay to show off some shiny . its just a half round drilled in a piece of metal no matter how cool the rest of the tool looks. i usually just peen them with a small hammer, i like the old timey look of a copper rivet..
  18. these are similar to what i use. https://www.amazon.com/Master-Airbrush-Dual-Action-Airbrushing-Accessories/dp/B00BTAOBDC/ref=sr_1_15?adgrpid=1239149927754445&hvadid=77447036273123&hvbmt=bb&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=101688&hvnetw=s&hvqmt=b&hvtargid=kwd-77447119490973%3Aloc-190&hydadcr=22398_13435104&keywords=airbrush+bottles+siphon&qid=1689864672&sr=8-15 they come with the attachment.
  19. the top one is a great airbrush for leather work !! You can get air brush bottles online so you can put your dyes in their own bottle. A new compressor is a must for you, Harbor freight has some decent ones fairly cheap this is the one i use. https://www.harborfreight.com/air-tools-compressors/air-compressors-tanks/air-compressors/2-gallon-135-psi-ultra-quiet-hand-carry-jobsite-air-compressor-64596.html. I use about 20 psi pressure as to high a pressure causes to much over spray. You can make your own cleaner also the recipe is all over the net. Buy some cheap air brush paint and practice.
  20. sweet!! I thought about an ankle holster maybe i could add something to make mine work both ways. ya need to learn to reload while hauling ass lol. We taught the British to do it so it cant be that hard . JUST A VERY OLD JOKE NO HARM INTENDED OR MEANT!!!!!!
