  1. I bought a pack of the rubber spatulas from Tandy and they have worked real well. They aren't that wide so a larger one my work out better for you. I really like the looks of the Putty Knife from Home Depot and will be getting one to try.
  2. Very nice, clean looking rig. Color is nice and light. What dye did you use? I'm finding that I like the Avenger style more than pancake and have gotten a few orders for holsters since showing off the Avenger I made.
  3. I use Tandy's white glue and have been surprisingly happy with it. It bonds real well and there is no smell. I'm restricted to the garage to do my work because my girlfriend, it's her house, doesn't like the smells from my liquids but she hasn't said anything about this glue. Barge is definitely pungent.
  4. Really nice I like your design very much. Color looks fantastic. You should get lots of orders from The Wild Bunch after they see that one.
  5. Super detail. I like this holster a lot. You really nailed molding it. I use vacuum bags and they just don't give that much detail. I'm thinking of buying a better vacuum. Mine is just an old shop-vac. Is it hand stitched as well? Nice stitching.
  6. Neck for sure. Thanks for the links.
  7. Extraordinary workmanship. I like the second picture better. Nice and clean looking with good representation of your talent. I think the chest rig is the best hunting rig out there. It doesn't get in the way of the gun, or binoculars and is easy to draw from.
  8. Awesome work. I need to make one of those to go inside a range bag I'm making. There's a pattern in the book "The ART Of Making Leather Cases by Al Stohman on page 30. I got mine on e-bay
  9. Excellent work on design, stamping and carving. Color looks real nice, what did you use? Back basket weaveing is extremely well done.
  10. I just did a bag using a hand Skiver. That's a lot of work. If I get to the point where I'm making a bunch I guess I'll have to get a machine. Watching this thread is helping me decide which machine will work.
  11. Great looking holster. Bread setting huh? I'm going to have to try that.
  12. I like the holster. Tooling is very nice. Someday I'm going to try to tool one of my holsters.
  13. I'd like to see them for a learning experience.
  14. I was lucky enough to ask a countertop manufacturer if he had any scrap. He brought me around back and told me to pick the pieces I want. I got a nice slab 36 X 24 and about 2 inches thick. He didn't want anything for it so after I started doing wallets I brought him one.
  15. Very nicely done. Clean lines and stitching is right on.
  16. As soon as I opened the thread my mind said "I like It". Very nice work. Gives me temptation to give it a try.
  17. Here's the front and back view with the gun in as you asked.
  18. I'll take a pic of the gun in the holster and post it later but here is the back of the holster. Stitching is done by hand. The finish is Tandy's TanKote. Thank you.
  19. I made a holster and two double magazine pouches over the weekend. When I posted the picture I saw that I forgot to do the stitching on the support piece so today I made a new holster and a single magazine pouch. 7-8 ounce leather
  20. Great looking holsters. 10 ounce leather, these are going to last a lifetime and will endure years of heavy use.
  21. Most excellent. Your artwork is fine. Looks like a top notch holster. She will be happy with it.
  22. Thanks guys for the tips and patterns. I've learned a lot more tonight. Particle: Great videos. I've got a long way to go but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
  23. Good choice on the finished product. Awesome work.
  24. I really screwed up the holster. Just figured it out. I forgot to stitch around the stiffener section so I'm making a new holster. That's the big difference. He doesn't have a fastener for the snap and the belt loop is totally different. My mind just isn't right. It's Adam's Leather, not Able's. I'm getting too old...
