    Might make them like a guitar strap ? I made this and it is somewhat adjustable , more slots spaced closer would offer more adjustment . Just a thought .......

  5. I cut the cross out of 1/2 inch A/B (smooth ) plywood , then 5/8 strips out of the leather and use contact cement on the wood edges and the strips . Apply and trim flush front and back , next same with face and trim , bevel edge and burnish , apply finish . ps: I tool the face before gluing it on Thank you Sir !

  17. Did this for a local fundraiser . First time covering something wooden
  18. I think it might could be done and not be seen but can't tell from that one picture ...... maybe something like this
  19. Second thought , sew a strip of firm leather on the bottom side to hold the edge out where you want it to stay ( stiffener kind of )
  20. If it is veg tan .......... maybe very warm water ? I guess you would need to lightly dampen the entire side to avoid any water spots , just go heavy on the edges with the warm water . Good luck and let us know the fix you come up with !
