  1. Thanks for the tip. So far my cobra class 4 is sewing back into the same holes in reverse. But I do like your tip/method a lot better, so I am going to adopt that method. Thanks.
  2. Thanks. I appreciate it. I keep finding with 138 thread I need to increase bobbin tension & then back my tension disc's off to almost nothing, when switching from 277 to 138 thread. I'm not going lie, I am a newbie to these big sewing machines.
  3. Guys & gals I recently got a cobra class 4 & curious how you fudge the stitch length at a 90° corner or at a border line. Say there is not enough length for 1 more stitch to be at the border/corner you are approaching. What is the right way to do this? Cause I'm a newbie with big ole sewing machine. Thanks. Heres a pic.
  4. No my hope & thoughts was to buy another shuttle hook assembly from leather machine co. & set it up for 138 thread. This is if it dont need re-timed from 1 shuttle hook assembly to the next.
  5. Thanks. I appreciate the tip on checking/testing the shuttle hook assembly.
  6. Where are you located? Thanks.
  7. I am not trying to step on the OP's thread, but @bruce johnson but do you have a pic of the Wayne Jueschke domer with the design it makes in the head? Also if a person was to buy his 1st set of rivet & burr setter's what size do you reccomend? #9 or #12? Thanks. I appreciate it.
  8. Thanks. @Wizcrafts I was kinda figuring it was a hit & miss type thing. If a person was to install the spare shuttle hook assembly & the machine dont sew correctly, then there is probably a good chance it will be re-timed. If I install the spare shuttle hook assembly & it sews good, what would be things to do to make sure? Should I try forward stitching, then reverse & back stitch. Thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
  9. I think Fiebings Mahogany with the Rose's colored red & green would also look nice.
  10. Guys & gals I recently bought a new cobra class 4, I would like to have at least 1 spare shuttle hook assembly. In case something happens. My question is: Are the shuttle hook & assemblies plug & play so to speak? Can 1 just swap between shuttle hook assemblies, or does each & every shuttle hook assembly need timed everytime 1 is changed? Thanks. Any & all help will be greatly appreciated.

  16. Are you looking for a waterproof leather? Hydro Repel leather is waterproof, but only comes in 2 colors. Black & chestnut.
  17. Beautiful work. They look great! Love em all! Really like the folder.
  18. Congrats on your new machine. I just got mine a week ago. I been sewing everything I can put my hands on. I'm a super newbie to sewing machines also & I bought the premium w/eps package. Plus all of HE&P extreme plates. I think both the cobra plates & HE&P plates will both have their uses. I have been using the #23 extreme plate & feed dog, & I'm beginning to love it. It would be my choice for inlay.
  19. Looks Great! Nice work.
  20. Well guys & gals I fixed my issue. I just bent the black release lever a bit & it is working as it should now. Lmao now Monday, I'll call leather machine & see what their fix is. Then I'll report back. Here is a pic of it fixed & releasing the thread tension between the tension disc's. Thanks everyone!
  21. Thanks. I'll check it out. I havent been to their site in a while anywho.
  22. Yeah see @TomE sees what I am talking about. That the thread release lever fits between the disc to open/ seperate them so it will release your thread to pull your project out of the machine. Thanks TomE for the better picture explaining & showing what I'm talking about.
  23. Ok I may be wrong. Soo everybody dont scold me. I'm a small guy, soo I dont got a lot of butt to chew on. On the top tension disc I go thru the eye, then I snap the thread in between the 2 disc's, then it wraps around a 1/2 to 3/4 of way around & goes right back thru the thread guide eye. From that thread eye, the thread runs down to the 2nd set of tensioning disc's. I appreciate the help. Thanks.
  24. Sorry Wizcrafts by my bad nomenclature. I still need to learn what all these parts are actually called. That way there is no confusion on any bodies part. Yes my cobra is working great & I found out what my issue was & fixed it. Thanks again for the help.
