Cobra class 4 foot pedal: Thread Release
DieselTech replied to DieselTech's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Yeah see @TomE sees what I am talking about. That the thread release lever fits between the disc to open/ seperate them so it will release your thread to pull your project out of the machine. Thanks TomE for the better picture explaining & showing what I'm talking about. -
Cobra class 4 foot pedal: Thread Release
DieselTech replied to DieselTech's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Ok I may be wrong. Soo everybody dont scold me. I'm a small guy, soo I dont got a lot of butt to chew on. On the top tension disc I go thru the eye, then I snap the thread in between the 2 disc's, then it wraps around a 1/2 to 3/4 of way around & goes right back thru the thread guide eye. From that thread eye, the thread runs down to the 2nd set of tensioning disc's. I appreciate the help. Thanks. -
#25 narrow needle plate & feed dog install/adjustment
DieselTech replied to DieselTech's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Sorry Wizcrafts by my bad nomenclature. I still need to learn what all these parts are actually called. That way there is no confusion on any bodies part. Yes my cobra is working great & I found out what my issue was & fixed it. Thanks again for the help. -
Cobra class 4 foot pedal: Thread Release
DieselTech replied to DieselTech's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Its routed right. It is just the time, the photo was taken it looks messed up/wrong. Thanks. I will double check it. But no my thread release arm is not going in between the 2 thread tensioning disc's to release the thread when the foot pedal is pressed down. Thanks. Yeah I know they will take care of the problem. I was curious what the solution to the problem would be addressed/fixed. -
Guys & gals I recently got a cobra class 4 & my foot pedal thread release is not working. When you step on the foot pedal release, it actually forces the disc's together instead of separating them. Making it almost impossible to pull your project out of the machine without breaking your thread. My question is: What is the best way to fix this? Bend the release arm in, to contact the center of the thread tension disc's? Or pull the thread tension dics mounting stud out & add a washer to the back side of the stud to space it out? Thanks. Any & all help will be appreciated.

#25 narrow needle plate & feed dog install/adjustment
DieselTech replied to DieselTech's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Ok thanks. I appreciate your help. I watched 1 of your old vids on the inline presser feetfor the CB4500, or at least I think it was your video. I'll try & find a video on them adjustments. So the foot with the hole should never touch the feed dog & then the left presser foot should touch the needle plate, when the center foot is up. Thanks. -
Nice work! Looks great! A nice rainbow of colors in there. It looks Sharp.

#25 narrow needle plate & feed dog install/adjustment
DieselTech replied to DieselTech's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
This is how it is sewing with that left presser foot not touching the needle plate. Here is a couple pics. The side with the makers mark is the feed dog needle plate side. Might need to lower my feed dog a touch more & back foot pressure off some. What's your guys thoughts? -
Thanks. I think alot of guys & gals use the suede for lining. 1 high end holster maker uses it, so it cant be that bad.
-
Nice work! They look great! Beautiful work. Do you line your scabbards & if so what do you use? Thanks.

#25 narrow needle plate & feed dog install/adjustment
DieselTech replied to DieselTech's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Thanks @Wizcrafts . I changed to @Patrick1 #25 needle plate & feed dog. I also changed the presser feet to the narrow foot & left presser foot. Should my presser foot be off of the needle plate? Here is a pic. Is there another adjustment I need to make? Thanks. Any & all help will be appreciated. -
#25 narrow needle plate & feed dog install/adjustment
DieselTech replied to DieselTech's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Yeah I set the #25 needle plate & feed dog up using a leather machine co. procedure for the cobra class 4 for the standard needle plate & feed dog. I just did not know since i was using a aftermarket needle plate & feed dog if there were other/more critical adjustments not mentioned or showed. -
Guys & gals I recently recieved a new cobra class 4. I would like to install the #25 needle plate & feed dog. What adjustments need to be made? Is there a actual # for the feed dog height above the needle plate? Videos I watched said a papers thickness above the needle plate is the proper feed dog height. Can somebody give me some pointers to make sure everything is ok & I'm not going to break something. Thanks.

Where does this piece go? Cobra Class 4
DieselTech replied to DieselTech's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Thanks TomE I appreciate it. Yeah I watch like 50 videos & read 14 articles & could not find anything on it for the class 4. I'm going to run without it then. Thanks. -
Guys & gals I'm assembling my cobra class 4. Where does this screw in thread guide go? It was in with a bag of parts. I cant seem to find anything about it. Now lmao I havent looked in the manual yet for it. I found 1 spot on top of the sewing machine it threads into, I just dont know if that is where it goes. The other thing is, if it is used what's it used for? & how is thread routed thru it? Thanks.
-
Yeah I finally found a video by Van Plew on youtube about cobra class 4 eps installation. On another note I got a thread in thread guide I'm not sure as to where it goes. I found 1 spot right on top it threads into. Lmao I just dont know if it goes there. I cant find anything about it.
-
Guys & gals my EPS directions got accidentally taped on the inside of the box & destroyed them when I opened the box. Does my EPS look like everything is installed right? The red Mark's were there from leather machine co. So I just lined them up. Does this look correct? Thanks.
-
Now I remember it. But I dont remember where the actual brake is. & how you disable it or back it off. Thanks.
-
Yeah I was going to get a cowboy cb4500, but the shipping was going to be twice as much than the cobra. So I went that route. I cant wait to use it. Lol I might get it put together tonight.
-
Lmao I dont even know if mine is right! The bracket the drop down guide came with is goofy like yours & I could not get it to work. Soo them pics is how I mounted my guide.
-
Thanks. I'll keep you updated. I'll get some pics here in a bit.
-
Here how my drop down guide is mounted. I did buy the extended hand lift knob & bracket to make this all work.
-
Thanks. I appreciate the photos. I'm slowly figuring it out.
-
Yes it is. Lol I'm kinda lost at the moment. Trying to figure everything out. I'm trying to figure my EPS out now. Lmao I have seen a couple videos & it's got me kinda lost. But I think I'm right. Waiting on a phone call to make sure. Love it!!!
