Knuckle duster
Grey Drakkon replied to Dragonfly42's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
That's one super fancy piece! Not too far that it looks weird though, it goes really well together. -
I do lampworking (making beads and such out of molten glass using a torch) and the latest project I was working on was making leaves, then to make something out of at least one of them. Bracelets and regular neclaces weren't doing anything for me, until I thought of incorporating leather. Found a scrap of Horween that was even close to the right shape, cut it and tidied up the edges, added some beads and riveted on some things braided wire and a clasp and boom! Turned out to be pretty unique compared to what most lampworking were putting out.

Really nice choice of leather, the textures go very well with the wood, as does the color. Also like the pop of turquoise to add interest.

Nice! A bit beefy for paperbacks, but any thinner and tooling is a pain. Should look great tucked into a hardcover. -
What an awesome little falcon's hood!

Coptic Stitch Sketchbook
Grey Drakkon replied to Grey Drakkon's topic in Books, Journals and Photo Albums
The nice thing about coptic stitch is that the book can open all the way, very handy when sketching things. Saddle stitch would mean that book would have to be lit on fire before it came apart though. Thanks! -
Coptic Stitch Sketchbook

Probably as well as the paper. I did wax the thread a few times while stitching it together so that'll help it too. -
Celtic inspired custom baroque bridle

That is fantastic! And yes, lol, looks a wee bit small on your horse there. Can't wait to see it on the intended cob! -
Decided to actually use some leather and made a sketchbook out of rag mat board covered in Horween and pigskin. Made 8 registers out of different colored acid free paper and stitched it all together with green linen thread. I think it looks pretty nice! You can see in the close up of the spine that I had to splice the thread together. At one point it made a knot and snapped.

Glad to hear it was just a glitch!

This is a late response, but have you checked your junk mail folder? I've had email programs randomly decide that a newsletter I was getting was junk randomly.

A bent wire should do that as well, depending on the stiffness.

It looks like Alf, doesn't it?

Yes, they're quite nice! I got the brass ones.

Yin, if that's the worst part of the entire bag, then you don't have much to worry about. Looks like it's really shaping up!

You tease the fish-o, you get the bite-o. ;D

Oh, yeah, those edges just look like total crap. --__-- Seriously beautiful work, as always. Also, you followed the key rule, which is don't bleed on the artwork. (floors, clothes, and fish are permissible.)

NICE! Do you have links to the resources you used to get the pattern? I'm in the SCA here and any member who saw this would go bonkers!
