  2. Looks like they are located in Kansas according to their IP address.
  3. Mach 3 and other models used to be sold by Leightons Industrial Sewing machines in Alberta several years ago. The owner was fairly old and really reliable. The business is gone, no longer on the web, so I assume the owner has passed away. Now I'm seeing all kinds of strange Mach whatever sewing machines like the above post. He found some of the same ones I found. Here is an old post https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/9019-sewing-machine-from-leightons/
  4. Depending on what you are working with, you might want to run the ends over a file or stone to get rid of sharp edges left from cutting them.
  5. I assume you are pasting to Paint or other graphics program. When you save the file in Windows 10, you can pick what format to save it in by clicking on the drop down box for the file type.
  6. Here is a quick example using cut up paper clips. My description above may not be very clear, but this photo gives a better idea of what I used.
  7. Thanks. Appreciate you posting your photos here. Many 3rd party hosted photos do stay up, as long as you use a reliable host and don't change any parameters for location, etc. I've seen enough hosted photos disappear. Have managed to find some of them, or had the OP find them, and others that are just plain gone. A few months ago there was a tutorial where the photos disappeared. Took a month or so for the OP to respond to a query on his website. He had a computer crash and the photos are permanently lost. That's why I bug people about it now. Thank you again, spread the word!
  8. If you use just the 2 main pieces as kgg illustrates (don't cut the gusset piece into 2, keep it one continuous piece), the gussets can easily be a different colour. And you would have a very solid bottom for your bag. You could make the gussets wider at the top so you can open your bag further. It you place the stitches on the outside of the bag, stitch the bottom of the gussets to the sides while laid out flat. Then the vertical sides. Especially if you use a sewing machine.
  9. Post it on YouTube and place the link to it here. The size of most videos is too large for the restrictions here.
  10. Please post your photos here. 3rd party hosted photos frequently disappear due to changes in the host's policies, host out of business, users moving files, deleting files, closing their account or the account expiring. When this happens, the post becomes worthless to all future users who are researching or looking for help to solve a problem. If your files are too large to post here due to file size restrictions, you need to resize your files to fit. Follow this link for some helps and suggestions. https://leatherworker.net/forum/topic/15122-how-to-post-pictures-on-lw/?do=findComment&comment=551171 There are lots of Apps, software, and online tools available on the web, or even built into your device to enable you to reduce your file sizes. 800 pixels in the longest dimension is quite adequate. Smart phone screens and many monitors don't display high res files in high resolution. People that live on the fringes of the internet appreciate smaller file sizes and high res photos may take from 10 minutes to hours to download.
  11. As above, and finish the top and bottom side to help prevent warping. So the wood all comes tot he same moisture content. When one side is drier than the other, it warps. That's nature.
  12. I've used Firefox for ages. I never logout from LW. It always comes up for me. I'm one of those characters that really dislikes being forced into using what MS thinks is the only right application for me. I prefer to use what I have searched out and tested.
  13. I'll fix it for you. Thanks for the correction.
  14. Be sure that you don't bring warm air into the enclosure as warm air is able to hold more moisture than cold air. That's what your dehumidifier works on, cooling the air to knock out the moisture. If you are bringing fresh air in, make sure it is only cold air.
  15. Moved your post to gun holsters

I think you need to decide what you are doing with this machine before placing an ad to sell it. Pictures would go a long way towards helping people understand exactly what is broken. Please read the marketplace rules and conform. You must provide a price, any information or restrictions on shipping, and photos when possible. Failure to conform may result in your ad being blocked. See the marketplace rules here https://leatherworker.net/forum/forum/70-announcements/
  17. Some years ago when assembling a few portfolios with precut, prepunched stitching holes I cut a number of paperclips into short lengths and bent them around to hold all the holes in alignment. It also helped me be able to find centers and make sure the parts all lined up correctly. I glued the parts together as I removed the wire for a little added security. So that took a bit of time for the glue to grip. But I'm slow anyhow! So that didn't really matter. I was watching TV at the same time, so could pay a little more attention to the screen waiting for the glue to tack up well. I have also used staples when the stitch line wasn't all that visible, especially on a sewing machine. The staple holes are small and tend to be covered by the thread.

  22. One of the major reasons (according to old news and comments from many years ago) was that all the car mechanics would have to buy a second set of tools, same goes for many other trades and manufacturing. Regardless, since many cars and car parts come from Asian countries that are 'metric', mechanics have had to buy their metric set of tools ... and all the others too! For measurements, it really helps to be conversant with both systems. I use mostly American/British units, but can switch to either easily, and yes I know there are a number of difference between American/British (Imperial) units. I still buy 2x4s, 4x8 panels, etc. Studs are still 16" on centre, or 24" OC, regardless of whether your are building metric or not. And dealing with so called imperial/British units, there are many disparities. I worked on a British built Parsons 5MW steam turbine generator bought and installed before or at the beginning of WWII. Adjacent to it was a newer model installed shortly after WWII. Had to have separate sets of wrenches for each, and the threads were different for each as well. Both machines were the same capacity, and both looked the same externally. Then they bought European gas turbine generators. At least they were both the same!
  23. It appears from your IP address that you are in the Saint James, New York, 11780 area. You should add your location to your profile so you get results for your area of the universe. I'm moving your post to the wanted area in the Marketplace forum.
