I have that same hammer but it's like new the face nail grabbing marks are much deeper than yours but the same design didn't know what it was called thanks for that Chuck.
I think they figured if it's husband and wife they can sell one set of tools if it's just one or the other that makes room for another tool buyer but that thinking lost them a good customer or two I never went back to that store.
One time I had her to the point of almost being interested in leather work talked her into going to Tandy leather with me we signed up for a carving class it took months to get her just to go to Tandy with me on the way home the store manager called and said the store policy was they would not take husband and wives in a class would not say why just store policy I said ok you just lost 2 customers long story short she is no longer interested in leather work. LOL
It was smooth when I got it but then where I have a lot of metal working machinery part of which are 2 polishing lathes I figured I'd polish it took about 5 min like battlemunky say's you can do it by hand just as good and depending on certain things by hand can be even better take your time it's worth doing.
Nice but the design does not look very German to me those oak leaves and acorns look pretty anemic look up Black Forest design oak leaves and acorns and get a feel for the real German Design the Black Forest design is nothing less than beautiful schonen Tag noch
That is very cool lot's of work in all that detail whenever I'm working on something difficult I'll think of this box and that thought will make my work so much easier so thank you for showing such a fine piece of work.
Beautiful work, I have a friend that makes that very same type of valise without the Accessory box, and he gets around $1,800.00 and more for his, that's nice work it would be worth every penny.
