So a couple of first for me on this one - machine not hand sewn, my own design for tooling Veg tan, v light weight (1.2mm thick ish) , acrylic painted & sealed then neats-foot all over, the fasten flap has a magnet Need to practice machine use & i should of move the design over a bit Comments welcome
  3. For getting texture when painting you can thin the paint then when dry use an ink in the same way you use antique gel

  8. Maybe a clear varnish of same sort in the local area? you could do a couple of tests on any scrap / cut off that you have

  20. A location, as in where in the world are you, some suppliers do not ship off continent
  21. As long as the dye is fully dry, I would paint straight on to it, depending on the opacity of the red you might want to do an under coat of a light grey / white, I would then just seal the paint & once dry do a seal coat over then whole item, I am not an expert but that process has worked for me:)
