  1. If you google “squeeze open pouch” it may give you an idea, I have only seen coin / glasses cases with this but you may be able to make a larger one?
  2. Yep did that with a snigger
  3. Ohh nice, may all his hits be crits. give it a year or so & if he’s still playing he will need a bigger one; I am sure dice breed in bags!

  6. I like the “blotchy” & nice book
  7. So I am making some shoes, photo below, what I want to do is to have a braided finish to the top. I have 3m of 3mm wide suede lacing on order (dark red). I was thinking of doing a Mexican round braid but I fear that may come up too thick / bulky, so i wanted to know is there a better pattern for this application, my main aim is to have a contrasting edge & to hide my poor sewing machine skills Any advice welcome, & thanks (the grey liner will be trimmed back)
  8. Ahh I see, nice repair BTW
  9. Ok noob question; why is it better to shorten on the buckle end rather than the holed end?
  10. The online stuff I think is just PDF, I would recommend doing one of the actual workshops to get the principles down

  12. Visited for the 1st time last Friday - still there & what a treasure trove of a place it is! No website, but they do telephone orders & the staff are really nice, helpful & knowledgeable
  13. I made my 1st shoes so exciting, I did a 2 day course with "I can make shoes" & i can recommend it to others, they are based in London & New York, but also have some PDF guides website: https://icanmakeshoes.com/ These are what I made on the course, you can pick styles, colors materials etc which is nice, the uppers are a suede / nubuck material approx 2 mm thick, fully lined with a microfiber lining, 3mm veg tan leather soles. Enjoyed it so much I brought the lasts, & have spent a small fortune on new tools & products! so now I have to make some more to justify the cost!

  17. Very nice:)
  18. So my 2p worth: it’s a matter of perception, words (despite dictionaries) have fluidic meaning depending on what the speakers intent is. I am a hobbyist leatherworker, I will never (in my opinion) be a master crafter as I don’t have the time to practice to get to that level and I am happy with that. I see stuff forum members post on here & I am blown away; however, friends & colleagues have said my work is amazing; but this is because they do not know better or have not seen work from a leather professional. Any one can give themselves a title, but the work will make or break their reputation, so I would suggest not to worry about others, be comfortable in what you call yourself & then let your work do the advertising. Slightly off-topic I can call myself a Chartered Surveyor MRICS ;)
  19. Love it & I am sure they will too!
