  1. The mop and glo solution he suggested is used by tons of folks nowadays you really must have been gone a while. Its an acrylic sealer just as most of the modern "leather " sealers and works the same. But you can pay more at the leather store if you feel the name on the bottle changes its properties. good luck.
  2. that is some cool cool work!!
  3. thank you.
  4. if you use a speedy stich remember to set the knot inside the leather like a sewing machine does. it will look a bit better.
  5. yea that's really cool a lot of work cutting strap.
  6. interesting indeed, i may have to try that for in town trips and such. This setup works for my Anaconda and 1911 as well as any of my holsters made in this pattern. I use it mostly for the boonies so it needs some extra strap to keep it from floppin if I don't have a coat on.
  7. Thanks guys.
  8. that is nice and the pattern is well adaptable to other goodies as well.
  9. No your Fergy , grumpy retired and sleepy, dopey and bashful didn't put in for the job so docs cousin edgy got it. But back on topic I've not heard of doing that with a laser nor was I able to find anything on the subject. His second question "Does anyone know how to do this?" and the pictures are what i was referring to.
  10. Thanks Frodo it works well with my shoulder rig also. Stained shirt not sweat lol I quit sweating when I retired.
  11. it looks great, letters are the hardest to do imo.
  12. I haven't got a piece this nice in years. the flesh side is some of the best i have seen as well, the knap is like felt so soft and smooth but tight , it has an awesome suede feel to it. I've been saving this piece for years. I left the back untouched I don't want ruin it lol.
  13. thanks i will keep an eye on that. my son picked up a 43x (sweet gun) last week also so I'll be making a holster for that next.
  14. thanks !! I'm weird the only thing i do left handed is shoot, I'm left eye dominant but I guess that doesn't matter for most other things. I'm liking this little gun . The magazine button can be switched to lefty which is nice and so far not a hiccup it seems to be a Glock clone for the most part.
  15. gorgeous!!!! no wonder my bro heads that way every fall.
  16. Built a holster for my new toy. 9/10 oz w&c very old btw at least 20 years old it is the last piece i had big enough to do anything with and that why it stained so dark it already had a nice patina going lol. Bison brown I mm tiger thread. Feibings golden mink oil for the liquor.
  17. The wife made a bird bath out of a Childs wading pool, its about 4' diameter we had to put large flat rocks in it so the small birds can get in without drowning. They need a good solid surface all the way into the water and a perch or flat area they can land on so they can walk around in the water and out and grasp it with their feet if they fall in. They love to bathe and are a hoot to watch frolicking in the water. Birds of all sizes and shapes use it now as well as being a watering hole for the neighborhood Deer.
  18. what part of the hide did you use? looks like belly imo which has a much looser quality and there's not much you can do with it. anything you put on to "glue " down the fluff will wrinkle when bent unless you coat it while bent in which case it may crack when you flatten it. what quality and part of the beast did you buy?
  19. They probably used a technique called heat embossing which is pretty simple to do so they probably didn't want to tell. I have no idea if it would work with a laser.
  20. Please tell me the sledge hammer part was a joke lol. That's an awesome holster she looks great!!!! I agree on the thicker leather I'll be making a couple this next week or so for a Glock 43 and a Taurus g3. I use a hole punch and 1" wood chisel for my slots found that method before I could afford the oval punch and after a few years of practice I wont change they look just as good and i can make any size slots.
  21. You know why you cant find rednecks in Canada..... Because you cant find a decent Beer, a home cooked meal, an intelligent conversation, or a warm piece of ass in the whole country.
  22. lol they sound like the Finches we have in our yard, mean lil buggers indeed they run off every bird no matter the size and the squirrels too. I love to watch them there is a small hole in our green house the they can get in and they eat the rabbits food we keep inside during the winter. Birds are awesome to watch they are so intelligent we have tried unsuccessfully to plug that hole but they keep finding ways to get in.
  23. a lot of the time I just use my hands. Especially on small stuff, sometimes a piece of paper towel folded up, sometimes a piece of cotton rag.
  24. actually its one of the few that look good on the front.
  25. I like it too.
