  1. you should be nice and toasty for sure, i have ng and need to install a new furnace myself, a new electrical service to the house was my big fix this year, hopefully next year the furnace. My blower went out last year and i found most of the parts are obsolete.
  2. i have two batteries in my truck with an isolator that allows one to remain charged at all times. The only thing my secondary battery does is run the winch which i think i may use once every four or five years so I can use it to jump start if needed. That's an idea on the fan. I'm heading for the woods today so I'll be gone for a week or so.
  3. Don't forget to check your battery also and wiper blades. lol I 'm way south but also way high our town is atop the continental divide at approx. 6800 ft. It should clear up now for a month or so then the real winter will start to set in. Its noon now and all the snow is gone to slush.
  4. i would love that too my friend!! Oh yea and some of my wines, elk steaks then a trip to OZ to see your side of life lol. We ended up with about an inch of snow in town, its crunch time now buy some groceries do a few odd chores then gas up the burb and we are off to the woods tomorrow.
  5. That's what I love to do just sit and listen to life in the wild. I especially love when the sun comes up, there is a moment right before when every wild critter quits making noise and there is nothing to hear but total silence then as the sun breaks the birds and all the animals start back up. We took the camper up to the mountains yesterday for hunting season so we could get set up before the weather hits and its snowing this morning. Gonna be fun cant wait to sit by the fire and have some of my homemade brandy.
  6. i found a fine mist sprayer in the womens hair dept, it works well. i originally bought it for misting my acrylics while painting.
  7. I would guess it unscrews at some point but its probably rusted up or just to tight. If you seriously want to re build it then cut off the leather. None of the leather or rawhide is good anymore you will need to replace it so no loss. it will be a lot of work for something that has little collector value but it is cool and I would do it just to learn how it was made. the holes on each end were probably to turn it on a lathe.
  8. thats beautiful, i had to find my magnifiers to read it lol.
  9. thanks lol that's my son, he has more knives than i can keep up with, now the other one i made about 12years ago thanks they fit pretty tight also they are wet formed to the cartridge's.
  10. hey its worth a try only takes a few squirts to know, and maybe even a cool effect or effects depending on spray size.
  11. I'll be darned I made and painted a skull mask just last year with acrylics and it came out great, no gloss what so ever.
  12. have you tested acrylics on a piece of leather to see if they will do what you want?
  13. if its an intersection I will turn on my signal ( that is the rule) if the sign says left turn only then no or if the road just turns left no.. , rules aren't intentionally made to cloud the issue but sometimes people make them for no good reason.
  14. had to make another for my son, this one is for 308s and I finished it a bit better, well I put some edge coat on it and burnished it some lol. notice one stitch to long on one side lol. shhh don't tell him.
  15. i missed that I'm used to leather questions I guess. There surely must be a way if its thick enough.
  16. you skive the edges thinner where the seams meet using a skiver.
  17. I forget that compasses, protractors and rulers don't get the use they did in grade school anymore. But a guy could get clicker dies made and pop these out by the hundreds or use a laser i guess, do they have badges for laser in boy scouts lol.
  18. the wick wicks up the liquid wax and burns it as it melts the candle, Candles if made correctly work so that the heat generated from the wick will melt all the wax to the edge and flow it to the middle for combustion leaving an empty container. the ring is and was used to facilitate the pool around the wick as if not done melted wax can over flow and cut a furrow allowing the wax to escape over the edge and drip away. More info our ancestors left us but we forgot with the invention of the light bulb.
  19. That went right over my head! Thank you. a shot gun holds three a double barrel two so I think mine would work well made to hold four or six, they would be awesome shooting skeet at the range with a double. . 22s and small handguns prolly not. now big revolvers 44 mag or larger maybe. I'll be experimenting this winter for sure.
  20. man there was a guy on the site the other day asking about projects for boy scouts that could be dome quickly. these would be perfect for that. They would make an awesome projects for those who do teach.
