10? Seems like only yesterday lol. Its a shame they are mothballing those for such a global sham. Ironically over here they are bringing back passenger trains to our U.P. line. They rerouted them in the 60's and a good portion of our town dried up. they were a great source of income for the shops downtown. Now they are bringing them back to get us ready for public transit IMO. We wont be able to afford personal vehicles in the future its just not good commie/socialist/new world order business to have rich peasants. We will live in 15 minute towns and walk or ride public transport. But you know that's all a conspiracy theory right.

it appears now to be calf hide with hair on I'll bet it was real pretty at one time.

What i think is cool is the construction, the way the seat is built it uses the weight of the person and the two pieces of leather to hold the chair together by pulling the 4 rungs tight. Beautiful old chairs indeed.

the problem with using something that doesn't remove some of the leather in the hole is it may not lay flat. worth a try though if you have an old screwdriver.

punch two holes of whatever size you need then cut between them with a knife to make your slots. or buy a slot punch if you can find one the right size.

i didn't know it was a fire starter but i do carry a small tube of it in my first aid kit for gluing wounds closed if needed. Good info i gotta test it now.

It is also used as a wood finish for smaller wooden projects like turned pens, duck calls and such goes on smooth and dries instantly.
