  1. Wished I had that bit of wisdom. As it turns out I, too, have invested in higher quality tools (Barry King mostly -- assuming they're top quality) and the results are much better.

    Wichita Falls leather show

Hi, I was curious if there are plans for the Wichita Falls leather show this year. I would like to go as my first show.
  3. ABC3 said you could call : 678/520-2695
  4. Hi, I saw this in my email yesterday. I am interested in a sewing machine, not necessarily this one, but a starter machine. I like the idea of it being manual (more because of cost) but thought the lever pulling kind would be tiresome vs a wheel/crank version. I know from this forum there are different opinions about Tandy products but because this was intriguing, I wanted the opinion of more experienced and informed members of the group. https://tandyleather.com/products/cowboy-outlaw-machine-with-platform Thanks in advance. ~JL
  5. Dig the holster....but you got alot of leaves to rake up!!!
  6. It looks like a kind of like a torture device....like what they did with the movie "the man in the iron mask" but in this case it's the man in the leather mask... ~JL

Well, I hope I help ... in maybe more ways than one!

Any tombstone engravers in your area?
  9. I don't know anything about horse tacks and such but I think it looks very nice. Maybe the three rows of stitches may be a bit odd, but what do i know? I love this site! ~JL
  10. Its hard to beat that price and I think you'd have to weigh what and how often you're going to use that tool. I'm a simple hobbyist and I've been interested in finding something myself so thank you @mike02130 for placing those tutorials. In fact, I've downloaded a couple of others!
  11. Liked the video, though. Just wished he would talk through what he was working on. But yep, BK crowner. Super nice to have but can easily be done with a small(er) beveler. That's what I did before I 'upgraded'.
  12. I think the football stitches adds a nice touch. A great conversation piece!
  13. are those individual card pockets? meaning do those cards have a home? I was thinking how they would all slide around if the wallet got banged up. Just my .02 worth.
  14. Nice, .... the collar, too!
  15. I think the other hole adds character.... kind of like explaining to my wife how my money for buying leather goods is burning a hole in my (billfold) wallet. :D
  16. Not a coin carrying guy but I like the design.
  17. Oooooohh... I like that! I'm going to have to borrow it.
  18. I don't know much (okay, I don't know anything) about horse/pony bridles, harnesses and such but I like the colors.
  19. Is there a story behind the coffin shape? Just curious
  20. I found it okay....
  21. not weird! COOL!
  22. Man, I admire anyone who can put together these kinds of utilitarian works of art. The mastery of the craftsmanship for something that looks simple at first glance really belies this artful beauty. What I would give to be a hangaround to just learn this kind of work. Maybe when I retire.........
  23. LOL, I didn't know what Hey Dude shoes toppers were, either! Now that, is a niche market to get into and appears to be profitable and fun. Looking at my pair of canvas slip on shoes I think, that would make a fun weekend project. And like others said already, your tooling is very well done and I dig the theme.
  24. Wow, your crafting is coming along really well! You should be proud. Plus, I dig the Texas star conchos. Just needs some cartridge loops but I understand they're buggers to sew. Well done!
  25. I'm still working on a skeleton as an art project but I totally hosed the teeth. Should've started with a modeling spoon instead diving ahead with my swivel knife. Yours looks much better, crooked teeth and all!
