  1. Yea, I hear ya about being nickled and dime for trying to sell your goods. I've of late have not enjoyed using Facebook but as I understand it, they have a very active Facebook Market Place. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace I don't know how much it costs to run an ETSY virtual store but that may also be an option. I agree with @PastorBob, stay local as much as you can. My plan is to make up a bunch of flat ware inventory and see what sells best during the Fall time crafts season but that's way down the road... Good luck!
  2. Hey very nice go at it. I bought BK crowners and like it but found that I have amore control using a really small beveler. Just my experience.
  3. Hi, Just beautiful work, from start to finish. Did you some sort of masking as you layered the air brush paint? . And for sure, please post any steps, that would amazing to share.
  4. The last post from OP was in 2017. I would imagine he's moved on.....
  5. I think you knocked it out of the park!!!
  6. @CowboyBob you should open a store down here in Houston!
  7. Looks lovely. Daughter #4? How many do you have? I have two and that is enough$$ !!
  8. I like the design but wished there was a picture of your journal opened up
  9. One NEVER has enough ammo... just sayin'

6" across? That was bigger than I thought. I'm sure the new owner loves it.

Hi, really neat work. Can you provide measurements or post another picture with something to compare it to like maybe a coffee mug?
  12. Dig this collaboration.... Love this board!!!
  13. I read somewhere on here how some folks were mixing leather 'dust' with some superglue to create plugs. May want to give that a try?
  14. I usually don't bother because it will eventually wear off each time I wash my hands but I have used something called Gojo hand cleaner that has pummus granules that does a good job of hurrying it up. Heck, even gasoline will work but would not recommend, at least for repeated use.
  15. oh SNAP! that camouflage detail work around the edges look super. Simple but very nice. And the display on the wooden planks sends out that rustic vibe. Good work!
  16. I like the dye color and the other one will patina very nicely after some time. Your tooling looks fine except for the bottom flower where it looks crowded and it looks like you missed some back grounding by the belt loop. But what do I know, I still consider myself to be a noob!
  17. Same. I cut my teeth on the Tandy starting kit and bought a few others from the store thinking it would help but the extra steep bevelers from Barry King is now my 'go to'.
  18. For me one of the (many) fun parts about leather work isn't always the finished product. It's the journey of learning and sharing your joy with others.
  19. Man, that looks really great. I never would've thought to have made lifters from screw drivers. Love this board!
  20. I was excited to learn you have a physical catalog (showing my age, I'm sure) but am now disappointed it is out of stock. I filled out the form so maybe when it comes back in I can get my grubby hands on it. FWIW, my local Tandy store said they had released a catalog but since they ran out they didn't know if they would even restock.
  21. Man, 5 by passes? I can't imagine... So sorry. I've reminded myself to send a prayer up for you, too. Hang in there and leather on!
  22. Sergey makes really nice crisp yet affordable stamps!
  23. I like the bit about rolling the leather thong into itself and incorporating as the strap to hold everything together. I've been thinking about building out my tool roll for when we are able to visit workshops and such and that would be a cool way to cinch it up without any hardware.
