  1. Wow, very nice. Very clean and great stitching. I used the olive oil with a light brown dye (for the back grounding) and another brown antique (can't remember which) on a few my projects and they also came out great. I learned that watching a youtube from Don Gonzales. His work is amazing!
  2. Lots of super resources on this forum. Works best if you also contribute.
  3. @fredk I am furiously downloading these, too! I wished these were in some sort of order instead of being randomly placed but, what they're a free download so I guess I can't be a choosing beggar!
  4. I should admit that I bought a package of I think 50 coasters that I plan to place initials, and maybe a small doodle but hopefully that each won't take more than an hour, or so
  5. Same. This is real gold. And just fun to look at and remanence. Knowing everything is virtual and CD's DVD's are no longer a thing, any more (I can't even remember putting one in the computer let alone the DVD player) I wonder if Tandy would reconsider repackaging these up somehow, maybe as a larger compressed file for download (for a "convenience" fee, I'm sure)
  6. A back issue of the leather crafter magazine had a pretty neat project making stockings. Trim the top, the heel and the toe with decorations or names, etc. That's on my list along with trying my hand at carving some Christmas cards. (haha)
  7. Man those waves looks like they're really crashing on me! Totally awesome work and I think you've (re) invented a new item that should be a great item to sale.
  8. What a great story! I Love Love Love this forum!
  9. Yes, you have some really great work that you should have no trouble pursuing. Mine is still in a hobby phase but I dream about doing the kind of work you're doing at least as some sort of side income for when I retire. I've got about 5 or so years left for me to practice so I need to get busy!!
  10. Wow, I have a couple of guys at work who would love to have that on their walls.
  11. Totally amazing work. Just stunning! I must agree with @chuck123wapati , a very unique end to the buckle. very nice. Question: why is it called a 'gypsy theme' belt?
  12. I like your design on both sides of the stitch line. It adds a bit of something for the eyes to enjoy. I think your nephew will really like it. And you should be proud of your work. Well done!
  13. I don't think my BK bevelers has numbers but out of a set of three, I use the middle one for most of my vine work, and the smallest for fine detail work. And as @YinTx stated, the big one comes in really handy for my long stretches of borders.

hey really dig the blue leather. What is it? if your photos are on your phone you can text them to yourself to make them smaller. I use an android messenger app on my desktop computer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging) that allows me to use my desktop browser instead of the mobile app (for when I'm at my desk). It makes it easier to download from messenger browser app to this forum. Just thought I'd share something that works for me. ~JL
  15. Yep, definitely would look great sewn on as a book jacket cover!

    Otter

It's a nice piece, for sure. I would love to see that sewn on a journal or book cover or something.
  17. I'm sure the 'ole boy' will be super happy!
  18. Really cool how the hair flows into the floral. And the blue makes the rest pop. Super work!
  19. Wow, I didn't even know there was such a set! And here I am, between gifts/presents and the amount of monies I spent, I probably have about that much in stamps and not even close to the BK set... LOL! But there again, I didn't know when I was getting started and buying a stamp here or there I would be this deep... but love it!
  20. yea, I'd wear that.... very cool looking.
  21. @tug99 what a very cool gift idea. And when you fill that niche idea as a gift, instead of something store bought, I'm sure it will be remembered even more by the recipient. Even still, when I make a gift, I would like to think the person who is receiving would know I was thinking of them (in a good way) while making it. I try to fancy myself as someone who has a passion for this craft. How could our works of passion be without love?
  22. Yea, I hear ya about being nickled and dime for trying to sell your goods. I've of late have not enjoyed using Facebook but as I understand it, they have a very active Facebook Market Place. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace I don't know how much it costs to run an ETSY virtual store but that may also be an option. I agree with @PastorBob, stay local as much as you can. My plan is to make up a bunch of flat ware inventory and see what sells best during the Fall time crafts season but that's way down the road... Good luck!
  23. Hey very nice go at it. I bought BK crowners and like it but found that I have amore control using a really small beveler. Just my experience.
  24. Hi, Just beautiful work, from start to finish. Did you some sort of masking as you layered the air brush paint? . And for sure, please post any steps, that would amazing to share.
