  3. Line 20 snaps work well in 3 - 4 oz leather thickness for things like change purses. For a bit thicker leather (5 - 6 oz) like that used in a jackknife case, we could use either the line 20 snap or the line 24 snap with regular post. If you get into 8 - 9 oz leather thickness for belts, you will need the line 24 snap with the long post.

  13. NO, The foot aggression ruins the leather. I have filed the teeth, i have dipped the foot in liquid plastic and have covered the foot with medical tubing. filing did not work, the liquids plastic just split and laughed at me and the tubing would not allow the leather to move That along with when you back stitch the thread snarls up under the leather If you can tell me how to operate the machine so the foot feeds the leather and it does not mark it up at the same time. I am ALL EARS What i am not going to do is pre punch holes. I might as well hand sew machine fixed the hell out of my Pumas

  15. It will give you a nice pretty even stitch line that has the top and bottom stitches snugged up tight with the correct tension. for about an inch or 2 it is a shoe patcher. it will NOT sew a belt, It will not sew a holster, it will not sew wallets after a inch or 2 You will have to stop and tinker with the damn thing because again. It is a SHOE PATCHER It is designed to sew a couple of inches to patch a shoe. I have one, I even have a servo on it. I have not FINISHED a project using the patcher. Please fgeel free to buy one and make it run like a Porsche here is the best advice i can give you if you buy one. go on youtube, seek out MANLY ACRES

  19. I would not think so. Only area to be of a concern is the top where the hilt will rest on the edge of the wood and leather.
  20. All chrome tanned leathers retain chemical salts from the tanning process. Those salts will, with long-term exposure, have an effect on finished steel. Not only will it cause corrosion on blued steel, I have seen it cause what I call "freckling" on stainless steel guns.
