Someone gave a friend of mine a Rex 26-188. My research here on this forum indicates that it is a clone of The Singer 16-188. (Thank you, everyone for all the information that has been contributed over the years!) It was stuck with surface rust from being stored improperly. After copious amounts of kerosene and elbow grease, I got it rolling over. It, of course came with a clutch motor set up to run about 2000 SPM. A 1725 rpm motor, 3.5" drive sheave and 3" sheave on the balance wheel. I got it sewing and discovered that the needle bar is bent. Finally, the questions: 1) Does anyone know if the needle bar from the Singer 16-188 will fit the Rex? And where I might get one? 2) Does anyone know where I might get a sheave at least 6" o.d. with a 14 mm bore? Will it be OK to replace the hand wheel with a sheave? Any other information is welcome and will be appreciated. Thanks, Jim

I only WISH my first actual project looked that good! Nice work. I'm sure he'll love it.

And I really like the looks of the ones that Chuck has made.

Pancake-style for a 3.5-inch 1911

I know that "too tight" is relative but does crisp molding around the ejection port make it difficult to draw? It is a handsome holster! -
14chow, I hadn't seen this thread before but maybe you could help me understand. According to the prices I see, the Cub is only $500 less than the CB3200(from Cowboy Bob). I know shipping would be higher but you get a reverse, table and a servo motor. That's worth the extra $500 to me. I know sometimes that extra $500 is just too hard to come by. What do you think? Thanks, Jim

I ordered and recieved one of @shoepatcher's drawers. It is a quality wooden drawer and fits my 29K71 perfectly. Thanks Glenn!

That red cow looks as skeptical about it as I feel. "Vegan Leather", we used to call it "Naugahyde". I takes lots of Naugas to make a purse!

Has anyone determined if this will work on a Cobra class 4? I thought someone was talking about it.

Thanks for the info!

I guess we'll just have to dig out our "mm stick".

Bill, Mine's MIA as well. I'd like to build one too. Jim

Mike, That looks like finished products. Do you know where to buy the leather? I'd be interested (although I assume it's expensive). Thanks, Jim

Use in good health! The "faults" make it yours. You are the only one who needs to be happy with it. Jim -
I haven't been able to find out on SLC's website but Tandy clearly states that theirs is chrome tanned. JM2C, Jim

Regan, A picture of your seat might help. I am picturing an ATV seat. Is that correct? I think some have seams. My Artic Cat had one piece of formed vinyl. I have to admit to buying the cover for it and installing it. I couldn't figure out how to form it or replace the forming with seams for a quality look. Jim

Cowboy Holster Tutorial
jrdunn replied to Jim's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Update: I finally reached someone with Double K Leather. The numbers from their website didn't work but I found one that worked on their FB page. The person who answered the phone told me "We don't mess with patterns anymore." and "Yeah, our website doesn't work either." So, no joy there. If someone knows someplace that I can purchase this pattern, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Jim -
... Or consider getting your pilot's license, Just sayin'.

Holster and seeking advice

I would think that a more forward cant would help since as you draw, your hand(and gun) come forward. JM2C Jim -

Cowboy Holster Tutorial

Callahan Holster pattern. @RemingtonSteel, Thank you for the link to Double K Leather. I tried ordering the pattern from them but at checkout was told that "there are no available payment methods for your state". Tried contacting them via phone and email about 2 weeks ago but no response. I also tried to PM @Brazos Jack with no luck and saw that he hasn't been on here in a while. I know these times are tough on businesses. I hope everyone is OK. Would sure like to buy one of these patterns if you or someone else knows where I could get one. Thanks in advance. Jim -
