  1. Thanks. Yeah I been dreaming up stuff to make or at least try to make. I plan on trying/experimenting with it on some kydex sheaths & holsters. I hear of people sewing plastics with the class 4. Kind of planning maybe a canvas tent/tarp.
  2. Yeah I have been watching his videos, case I do encounter a problem. Which I'm sure is going to happen. Thanks.
  3. Thanks. That is great info. I appreciate it.
  4. Yeah I'm sure I have soo much to learn. I'm hoping I dont mess the machine up or something. I think I have watched 20+ videos on different aspects of the machine. Read a lot of info on here as well. Cant wait to get it, but I know its possibly 4-6 weeks out yet. Thanks I'll have to look into the brake thing you mentioned.
  5. Thanks. Lol the last time I ran a sewing machine was high school. So yeah this is going to be a journey for me. My machine is supposedly to be set up, & ready to sew other than final assembly. I'm sure I am going to waste 40miles of thread & lots of leather scraps learning the ins & outs of the machine.
  6. Looks good. Nice work. That rig looks great.
  7. Thanks TomE I watched that video a few years ago & could not remember the link to it. Thanks I appreciate it.
  8. What's your thoughts on bonded nylon over bonded polyester for machine sewing. Is 1 thread more forgiving than the other? Do you like 1 over the other thread? Thanks.
  9. Guys & gals I have finally saved up enough money for a Cobra Class 4 & ordered 1 Tuesday. Also ordered Patrick1 accessories just in case they are needed. I will be using 277 thread top & bottom most of the time. My question is: Does anybody have photos of sewing samples with the different leather point needles? Like the D, S, & LR needle points in a #25needle. Also does anyone recommend any wear items/parts or additional accessories, I would like to hear about them. I have been reading & watching lots of videos on that machine. Do any of you guys & gals reccomend any. I'll take any advice given. I am hoping if I run into a bind someone will be willing to help out. Thanks.
  10. Thanks. I will check them companies out. Yeah it seems they offer way more colors in the bonded nylon thread.
  11. Guys & gals where is a good place to get bonded polyester sewing machine thread? I'm looking for thread with lots of color options & sizes 138-277 Thanks.
  12. Don Gonzales has a pretty good tutorial on antiquing. Lol it will be quicker than me trying to explain it. It can be done numerous ways thou.
  13. I use a lot of veg-tan, but I just been using the imported stuff in grade A & I have been happy so far. I have heard a bunch this year from some very professional famous leather makers. They have said that Herman Oak leather has been hit & miss for them too. Basically from 2023 going into 2024.
  14. Yeah I think blue & orange look good together.
  15. Looks good. Nice work on them. They look great.
  16. Thanks. You are on to a fine start. Everything looks quite nice. Beautiful work.
  17. Looks good. Nice work. I like the pattern on the belt next to the black belt. Is that hand stamped/tooled or was it embossed? Thanks.
  18. No problem! Thanks I appreciate it.
  19. Looks nice! Beautiful work.
  20. That leather might be to tight grained to get the desired effect. But 60 grit might be worth a try. That gray color is from the tanning/dying process I believe. Your leather might not have them gray tones under the black like the other belt you pictured.
  21. I would try some 60 or 80 grit sand paper. That should give you the desired effect you are going for.
  22. You need to list a price. Thanks.
  23. Looks good! I like it. Nice work.
  24. Sound like the motor is running backwards or the motor needs flipped 180° or end for end.
  25. It is a tandypro pattern 3600-02 wallet. I dont know if it's still available. It's a makers leather supply pattern, here is the same pattern & it is still available.
