I'm also with Dwight on this one. I only use chicago screws on my belts. Also you can get designer Chicago screws. Flower shapes, starburst shapes, sunflower shapes if you want some more flair.

I dont know that for sure. I bet it wont work the best on a soft leather, but I maybe wrong. I got some soft flexible water buffalo I could try on it. To give some sort of input back.

I bought it to use on wallets or are intending too. I will try & mount it up this weekend & try it on some of the Buttero leather I got. My intentions was to use this to skive card pocket & such. I shall report back.

I think this is what you are looking for. They have a couple different styles. Just make sure the post lengths are sufficient.

Tom I'm no expert on this, but some of the vintage tandy stamps on pro leather carvers. Are priced from $30-$50 each depending on what stamp they are. There is some older tandy stamps I would like to find. They made nicer stamps back then.

Ok thanks. Well it is official, I got a matte porosus Crocodile coming. It is 32cm wide in the belly. I hope I can get 4 wallet backs out of it. I also just got a electric creaser I need to be practicing on using. Thanks.

Them are 1foot wide by 2foot long panels from rocky mountain.

@sparctek what did you do for your edge treatment on your Crocodile wallet. Did you use edge paint or heated edge paint? Thanks.

I think 5oz in this leather would be fine for that bag. But if you really wanted it to have body I would go with 7oz. Another thing to think about, If you are going to line the inside of the bag you want to make. I would probably use the 5oz leather.

Maybe I'm not thinking this thru or right. Lol But why cant you fold your quiver the way it needs formed & then fold your decorative piece & place it where it needs to be & mark your 1st stitch hole on the decorative panel & the quiver. Then you can punch all your stitch holes in the decorative panel on the bench. Then once the quiver is shaped you can finish punching you holes in the quiver & hand sew the panels on. I also think you could tool your panels & then roughly shape your quiver & glue the panels on the quiver & then sew. I maybe totally wrong to. Cause I've never done a quiver.

Thanks for the heads up. I appreciate all your info on the matter. Beautiful Crocodile wallet you made. I was hoping I could get 4-6 wallet backs out of a hide, but i maybe dreaming. I thinks i for sure can get 4 nice wallets out of a whole hide. Of course I figured wallet 5&6 might not be cut from the most attractive part of the hide. Is that a glazed Crocodile? & do you remember what color that wallet you made is? Thanks.

Guys & gals I'm curious if any of you seasoned professionals have worked with Crocodile leather. I'm looking at buying a whole hide & curious if it would be ok for wallets & card holders & such. Is it hard to work with? Is it durable, as in lasting? Thanks.

I'm no help on what your curious about. But another thing to think about would be warranty & parts availability. Just in case something does break.

The light colored leather next to the wall is a pebble finished/textured Conceria Walpier Dollaro in the color whiskey. The reddish looking leather is Conceria Walpier Buttero in Chestnut. Its smooth. The dark colored leather is also Conceria Walpier Buttero in Mahogany. Also smooth. I'm waiting on some Conceria Walpier Museum to arrive. Other than it's the same firmness.

I am going to recommend you check out any of these 3 leathers. They are firm hand leather & got great body to them. Beautiful leather & great color choices. Conceria Walpier Buttero. Conceria Walpier Dollaro. Conceria Walpier Museum. I would recommend 5oz or a bit heavier.
