Here is a video we did a couple weeks ago. We show how to find the middle of a belt to put a name in. Also, we talk about and show how to space letters. It is an hour long, but we have fun and answer some other questions. Customizing a Belt https://youtu.be/9-CfbHUnw1I

Hi everybody, I'm not sure where to put this. So i just post it here. I did an Ultra slim wallet (two Card Slots and a place for paper cash) and made a Video while making it. The language is german but the Pictures should be self explanatory. So Maybe somebody likes it. Here is the link: I'll attach a pic for those of you, who dont want to watch the vid

Okay, where is it? You know - that one elusive video that shows me how to make a holster pattern, or the holster. My baby girl figured out the password on my phone So I found her on poo-tube... and wouldn't ya know it, there's "holster videos" (sometimes holster stuff comes up in searches around my stuff). So, I admit it - I watched [portions of] about 10 of 'em. There I said it And in turn, each one of them took varying amounts of my time to show me the same thing Stohlman put in a book 50 years ago. Different gun models, but the same thing. So, seriously -- those who just want to bicker and argue, please do it elsewhere. Otherwise, DO tell me where the video is that ACTUALLY DOES show me how to design / make a holster. I know about the one Sam Andrews made (which I applaud). Is he still the only one? Now, I don't mean that a camera is running and there's a holster, and maybe there's a gun right there. I mean, if someone searched for 'how do i make a leather holster?' .. WHERE would I send them?

Okay, I’ve been on the fence about a flatboed vs a cylinder arm with table adapter. But then I see this and I’ve made up my mind.

Seen a video on making holsters, or making holster patterns, you found helpful? One which showed something you haven't already heard (and heard, and heard)? Add a link here. Let's keep it to links - not embedded videos (that's an option when you add the link). Post a link, and maybe a line or two about what you gained from the video. If you see something in the list which already covers that topic, let's not double the same content. I don't care who did the video, or when -- only that it adds relevant information that isn't covered in a bunch of other places. Something unique. Could be yours or someone else's. By seeing what is covered, we should then know what is not covered, yes? Personally, I thought this one was worth seeing. There is nothing about making a pattern, but a guy who never made a holster could see how JUST from this one video. Excellent "how-to". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFsXw3gabqk

Hi gang, I made a backpack for my girlfriend and ended up making something very similar to a Japanese Randoseru bag! I love the result despite many small errors along the way. Made with 1,4mm thick vegetable tanned leather, dyed with Fiebing's Oil dye in walnut and hand stitched. Do let me know what you think =)

Yikes. I just noticed a 45 minute long video on making a 3-slot card wallet. The video 'craze' has been out of control for a while now, actually, but does anybody REALLY need to watch a video to cut out 4 pieces (2 pairs) of veg tan (about 3" x 4"), stack em together, and stitch em? I'll re-write this with pics of the actual leather (soon) but for now these make legitimate and painless father's day gifts. still time! card_hor03.pdf

Hi, I've just spent hours reading through old posts. Now I don't have a sad life, as you are thinking, 'cos I am 'foot up' die to a foot operation and cannot get to the bench. So I soon realised that if I could done this when I started leathercrafting (much better description than leatherwork - work is toil and craft is love) I would have shortcutted many mistakes and saved much scrap leather. So, to those reading this who are just starting out in leathercrafting, read as much as you can and copy from those who have gone before. One day you will have an original idea and you will have the skills to allow it to come to fruition. Al Stohlman's books are an excellent place to start. But as this is the modern age, online may be the way to go. (Yes, i am going to get there, eventually) OK, I'm here. The best thing you can do is to go to Youtube and search on IAN ATKINSON and NIGEL ARMITAGE and watch their instructional videos. Free, but donations are welcome, they will give you a firm grounding in basic leathercrafting. Do I get anything for plugging them? No, in fact I have donated to both by buying small items from them in the past (I can't bring myself to 'donate' as I would think I am short changing cancer charities) so I am not beholding. But they deserve my pushing them as i think it is the way to go. So, apart from one or two 'agreements' I would like to see your Youtube 'heroes'. Mainly for the benefit of Newbies, of course, but then again I do have a few more days of viewing time and an unlimited download contract with our beloved BT. Oh, both Ian and Nigel are Brits - so am I, but that was not a factor in my choosing..... Claire If anyone needs to see a photo of my foot as proof of incapacity I will try to post one, otherwise I'll not bother ....

Here is a video of my work area... I picked up a new camera (GoPro 3 White) and decided I'd try and make some videos of my leatherwork. I am just a beginner, however, I have learned so much from other people (of all skill levels) posting videos that I figured that maybe someone could benefit from my little knowledge or, from my mistakes... I'm new to making vids and new to the GoPro as well so I hope you don't get sea-sick watching! All comments are welcome. (I have thick skin as well as the ability to ignore any non constructive comments.) (Click on the word "video" above to link to YouTube.) Thanks!

Just a video for anyone that needs help understanding why some machines are just wrong for leather. It doesn't include the 441 clone, but Wiz has that covered in his sticky along with all this same info. I just added this video for those that need to learn visually. Hope this helps! Malik

Hello, I am with a county museum and am working on an update to our saddle exhibit. I would like to find a video on historic saddlemaking or leather work to include near an exhibit of a workbench with standard leatherworking tools. So far I have found only modern how-to tutorial video clips. If anyone has a source for a historical perspective, I would appreciate it!
