  2. I would definitely be interested. Just PM me when you decide Mike
  3. Nice site and nice work. All the best in your endeavor
  4. I have been stamping leather for 40 years. Haven't done much basket weave though. Yours look better than mine. But I agree with the other comments too.
  5. Thanks for the tutorial. It made sense to me!
  6. You should get in touch with the suppliers on the sponsor pages. The list of tools you need will vary with the opinion of the person telling you. If you are just getting started I would start with a basic set and get the best tool value possible. For sure with stitching you would need a good awl, and thread and needles. Get good ones as the cheap stuff will disappoint you. You will also need a rivet setting tool and a snap setter in addition to the snaps and rivets. As far as stamping tools, you can start with the cheaper Tandy stuff or go all the way to the Barry King tools or Bob Beard or Clay Miller to name a few. They are quality tools and will cost significantly more, but, you get what you pay for!! Also with leather.........there is good stuff like Wickett and Craig or Herman Oak all the way to other nonusable leather form some others, again, you get what you pay for.............just my 1 1/2 cents worth. Mike
  7. I started a batch of Roon the other day and just now tried it out..................OMG it is easy and fantastic!! I cant believe anything else was so simple and easy to use. Thanks to all the posts on how to make it...I was skeptical at first but I am now a believer!!
  8. Nice work and welcome..........could you explain in detail with pictures how you made the barbed wire?
  9. You can also use olive oil and it might not darken it as much.....worth a try anyway.........Works well from what I have been told by others
  10. The Harley saddlebags with a horse on them gives me an idea..................nice work btw
  11. Plastic maybe?? Isn't that taking vegan to the extreme though? I mean even plastic is made from oil byproducts......which was originally an animal form at one time. Just saying!!
  12. I should have kept mine and then I would have one............Have you tried Northern Tool?
  13. One of these days I am going to get out my airbrush and start trying it..................one of these days!!
  14. I would suggest posting pictures when you are done!!
  15. you can always use google translator to convert spanish to english. I would like the patterns if you would send them to me Mike
  16. Thanks for posting this Johanna. I look forward to reading all you put on here.
  17. You could try a rollaway cart with racks for the tools and drawers for the other items. Mainly get something that keeps it all in an organized fashion that works for you. I am a Travel Nurse and all my stuff goes in 3 plastic boxes till I get where I am going. Then the tools come out and the other stuff stays in boxes till I need it. I have one box for tools and dyes, another for books and patterns and a third for the leather. My sides stay in the shipping box until I need it also. Not a perfect situation but it works for now.
  18. Have you tried the contact cement from Barge? I believe it also comes in a small container to help minimize the mess and has an applicator bottle. All I can think of of the top of my head. that is another great suggestion Beaverslayer!!!
  19. LCI used to make it for Tandy.........but since they went eco friendly they stopped carrying it and it is now made and sold under the names Clear Lac and Wyosheen. That is the shrt version...lol
  20. I use Clear Lac from Sheridan outfitters and I think Springfield leather carries something similar (WyoLac I think). Block out is water based and I haven't had any luck with it either. Also the Super Sheen is just a protectant for a top coat...not much good for resist in my experience.
  21. Just remember that pig stretches a lot. Glue it down good.......other than that I can't think of anything........Post pics when done!!
