  1. Lost track of how many relatives I've made this or that for, It was fun, it was practice, I think they were all appreciative of their items. Yours look great ! Mine not so much ! keep up the great work.
  2. Firstly, (You'll be fine) Just think it through carefully as you seem to have done. Use what you have, or want to use in thickness and materials. I made one recently and it was much easier than anticipated. It was a fold over taco type. I did use a fringe according to customer idea. loops for horse carry. and one single carry handle on top was plenty for mine. And in my HO your right, no liners for the fact you mention.
  3. A Thank you to Bruce Johnson also a Thank you to Oltoot
  4. Thanx for this tip TOXO, Simplicity never comes easy to me. hoho
  5. Nicely done no matter the method ! But I'm gonna speculate as well. Maybe just a real quick pass over with sealer, then cloth wiped alcohol dye, and excess quickly removed, simple ?
  6. That's really nice in every way. carving, tooling, Color execution, stitching, even presentation. Great job !
  7. Which ever way you decide to go, chaps are not an easy task ! But you might See Denny and Liz making chaps Pt.#1and #2at Springfield Leather on www.youtube.com ( be forewarned though they call them shaaaapps not chaps - hohoho Or you might want to send customer to www.leatherup.com if your not interested in doing them yourself ? They carry about as large a selection of leather goods as, I think ? I've ever seen. Big and small prices.
  8. Very instructional, and detailed. Hand held video not bad at all, Thank you for the video.
  9. I'm of the same opinion as Fred and Chuck. Yeah, you already got this, This way, there's a liner and NO bleed at all ,and as stated the ties could be changed without too much difficulty if ever needed. Super clean and neat ! Or you might even put the concho's on its own strip and attach ? Still NO bleed. Hope i've been of some contributing help ?
  10. Really, Really nice piece Chuck ! It all just functions well together. You are an Artisan !
  11. Coincendentally, We've Recently, somewhat researched (RIT DYE) It seems there are not only (Liquid and Powde), but you'll need to be even more observant , As weve found there are also All Purpose and Synthitic, in at least the Liquid form. and as it seems array of color are abit hard to find. Sheilajeanne's link to a color chart is the only place we 've found for different colors. Hope this furthers your inquaries !
  12. Is the term Super still used these days ? If not bring it on back , cause those are SUPER !
