  1. It should be fine. Maverick carries 1st runs and seconds. But from what I have bought, I have had a good experience with them. I haven't tried calf leather either. Lots of people use it for wallets and wallet interiors. I have also wanted to try some, but haven't yet. I have 5 or 6 sides of stuff I can't seem to get around to working already.
  2. Wiha has some really well made screw driver sets. Top quality stuff.
  3. That is really cool. I'm glad to hear it's saving time and your hands. Mine hurt all the time. And it's auto feed. Do you still have to punch a hole?
  4. It looks good. I like the asymmetrical look of it. Keep it up.
  5. What do you mean better??!? Haha I still want an awl handle.
  6. That is a really awesome belt.
  7. What Brian said. Yeah it will cost a little for the press and dies. But after that your options really open up for future repeatable projects. Dang, think I just convinced myself to get one...
  8. Fiebings pro dye. And to avoid confusion the "pro oil" and pro dye are the same formula. As per an email I received from fiebings, they are discontinuing the "pro oil" moniker due to confusion. Cheers.
  9. Dangit, I need a shop that's full of tools.
  10. I haven't done this but here goes nothing. First use the pro dye. Give the piece a coat of pure neatsfoot oil. Wait 24 hours. Starting with lightest splotches first, apply 1st color. Stop. Wait 24 hours. Buff with clean rag or old t shirt. Apply 2nd color. Stop. Wait 24 hours. Buff with clean rag or old t shirt. Apply each color this way. After last buff apply a light coat of Aussie. Wait 24 hours. Buff with a clean rag or t shirt. Mix the resolene 50\50 with water. Apply very thin coats with ample drying time in between. Time is so often our culprit. Hope this helps.
  11. I like it. I have a question though...... Will the nonparrellel belt slots cause a belt problem?
  12. You can post as many as you like. It's nice to see somebody having the time to spend at the bench. Looks great. I, for one, like the two tone.
  13. What little I have used my head knife, it's been spot on and a pleasure to cut with. Did I have to have it? Probably not. But I like it. You can sure zip around corners with it.
  14. Just offer the pattern for free with a kit purchase. Easy Peasey.
  15. No problems. You can get cheap chisels on Amazon. I have some 4mm that are great @ less than 20 bucks a set. You can always upgrade later.
  16. Stray away from the water based stuff. Aussie may be enough, if not thin coats of resolene. No expert here, just trying to help.
  17. Ooooh crossdraw!!! I like it.
  18. Sorry for your loss. Your tribute exudes class and looks very professional. The beaded trim on the frame really accents your border stamp. The frame was worth it. Great Job.
  19. For large fixed blade sheaths I would use 5mm irons or chisels and 1mm thread. I'm liking the tiger thread. Anything smaller I would use 4mm and .08 thread. But, I'm no expert.
