  1. This is a really great series you have started. You could do wallets, fob, bracelets, maybe even a folder knife sheath.
  2. Yep, they are that good. You ain't right.
  3. On the topic of doughnuts, you haven't lived unless you have had a fresh hot Southern Maid. They are a small franchise in Shreveport Louisiana and make Krispy Kreme seem like a lump of dirt.
  4. Great job.
  5. That is just really beautiful. Bravo Thanks for sharing the adventure.
  6. The whale looks happy. Good job. I like the angled stitch.
  7. Yeah, but I was barely able to afford the one book.
  8. You can get a signed copy of Tim's books here. https://www.shoemakingbook.com/purchase page.htm He also has some other books, but I'm too pooped to dig thru them right now.
  9. Any good cabinet shop would have a wide belt sander like @Ferg mentioned. Call around and see what they say. They may charge you less if you are up front about donating one or two for trial and error. When people bid things they aren't sure about they usually charge more in case there is a mistake. But, since you mentioned having 60 that you can't use right now.........
  10. Like the sheath, really like the seat, love the bike.
  11. That is a real beauty. That looks like a very marketable item.
  12. I think my last order took 5 months. Keep in mind, he has no one else touching these knives. When I first contacted him I asked about what he might have in stock. He laughed and said he hadn't had stock in 4 years. Once Nigel did his review, Terry was slammed. If you could make it to one of the shows you could maybe buy one off his table. I'm sure he gets some made up for those.
  13. I haven't tried an Osbourne. They do take a little getting used too. I have been making razor knife cuts towards me for 25 years. It took a little while to get comfortable with the push cut.
  14. Looks like they grew there. Great job.
  15. This has been a really good read. I will chime in later. Great thoughts, everyone.
  16. Yes, ask this fella about leaving the natural color.
  17. I'm not sure I would like anything smaller than the French style. Sometimes it feels a little small in my big hands. I would totally use it for holsters.
  18. Yeah it's really good to use like a whittling knife. Shaving edges and such. Some of the patterns I use have some very small cut nooks and crannies. So, a push cut doesn't really work there.
  19. P.S. the curved detail knife scares me most of all. It is nasty sharp.
  20. The bevel knife is good for soft spongy leathers on a straight cut. I got the detail knife for tight little knips have to be taken off here and there. But, I use the French model the most. Even half inch radii are a breeze with it. Just turn the pointier side down and drop the end of the handle on to the table. This book has some great techniques for using the round knife. @immiketoo, I'm feeling a little jealous. What is that spear headed concoction in the bottom left of your first pic?
  21. Well the book runs a 140 American but I think it will be worth it. Probably 6 different times in the first 20 pages he gave hints on stuff to watch out for and how it will mess up the process down the road.
