Vegetable tanned leather which is labeled a double shoulder for sale. Labeled 8-9 oz (3.1-3.5mm) leather thickness, backside is marked 12.5 square feet. I think it is probably correct. This double shoulder is fairly clean as can be seen in the photos. The backside is fairly smooth. It does show fat wrinkles and other characteristics. I have more leather than I can use right now, so I'm selling off some pieces such as this when I have the time. Labeled asTandy item #9052-02, their price $90-$99 plus tax on the label, currently $112 - $140. I'm no expert, but I don't see the filling that is used in some of the newer Tandy leathers to cover up scars and such, so this *may* be some of the older nicer leather. My price: $55 plus shipping. I am also selling another side, which is an Oak Leaf Light Skirting 10-12 oz, photos in another listing, for $115 plus shipping. Combine these two pieces of leather to save on shipping and save on leather: $160 plus shipping or best offer. YinTx I just noticed the shadow lines in the photo: it is light shining through the slats in the back of a chair, no diagonal shadow marks on the leather.

Remind me not to buy any craftools on ebay any time soon so I don't bid against you. Tandy creating demand. Going to have to learn that lesson and apply it! YinTx

I've never seen that. What brand of leather are you using? YinTx -
That would be interesting to see in action then. YinTx

Solid first effort for sure. Welcome to the craft. I think @bikermutt07 says something to the effect of wanting a new belt and deciding he could make it himself. $5000 in tools and leather, and months later, he now has it. That hadn't occurred to me. Always used the method when working on my '68 Ford, don't know why I didn't apply it here. Might hafta try. YinTx

How did I miss this, really cool! YinTx

@chriscraft That's a looker! Interesting all steel and wood? I just picked this one up, steel, wood and brass. I am in the process of cleaning it up. How did you determine how old yours is? YinTx

Agreed, but sadly that still leaves the "big fella" in Jeff's story holding the bag (of low priced high quality slings that he can't sell). YinTx

You aught to see all the crap labeled "handmade" on ebay that clearly isn't. Yep, pretty much my experience. Everyone wants that "handmade" price they see on Ebay. YinTx

Maybe, but what about the two holes it makes? I understand it may have come out of a fabric or furniture place if that helps the mystery... YinTx

OMG, Bill the CAt! I've got to add that to my list of things to tool... now, how to do a fur ball.... YinTx -
Also turned or rolled edges as another method. YinTx

Nice colors, but hard to see the tooling! Any chance of a photo of it stretched out? YinTx

Just looking at it closely, maybe not. It'd need to taper at the waist. Anyone know what it is for? YinTx

I went looking for a set as well a few months ago. Did not see a cheap set that didn't cut a circle out of the leather. So, I went for using a stitch marker (overstitch wheel) and a round awl as an alternative method. Worked out ok. YinTx
