  1. Thanks, Guys . . . I did the saddle soap routine on it I think 3 times . . . hung it out in the sun . . . I'm thinking there is a smoker out there who would like a leather jacket cheap. It is absolutely nauseating in a closed up car with the heater on . . . May God bless, Dwight
  2. In answer to your "hole" question . . . yes . . . kinda sorta. What a lot of us do when making a "cut out" in a piece of leather . . . is first punch a hole . . . in this case I would use about a 1/4 inch hole. Those holes are punched in the corners of he cut out you want to make. Then starting at the top edge of the two holes at the top of this cut out . . . make straight cuts to the edges of each. Same for the two holes on the bottom . . . then cut the edges. You then wind up with a box that has 4 rounded corners for your cut out. Yes . . . that does definitely keep the corners from tearing better . . . makes for a cleaner look . . . I copied your drawing . . . stripped it down to the affected area . . . and here is what the finished product should resemble. May God bless, Dwight
  3. Pictures and drawings do a lot to explain the chatter I read above . . . and could not decipher . . . May God bless, Dwight
  4. Take a sponge . . . lightly dampen the flesh side . . . LIGHTLY . . . and use a wide putty knife . . . or something similar to flatten the fibers . . . then a light coat of resolene . . . cut 50/50 with water. Makes a nice finish . . . May God bless, Dwight
  5. I didn't see where you considered a Tippmann Boss or one of it's clones . . . totally manual machine. I have used one since 2000 . . . picked up a Cowboy 4500 a year ago . . . that old one armed bandit made a lot of money for me . . . as well as made a lot of products. Looking at your list . . . it would fit very well for all of them . . . provided you are not sewing a lot of belts . . . then it becomes a bit of a pain. The rest are easy peasy for it. Tippmann is right down the road from you in Ft. Wayne . . . and they'll treat you like family . . . May God bless, Dwight
  6. Actually . . . you didn't "yup" . . . so to speak. The pattern I sent you was for shooting an M1, and M14 or an M1A (or many other rifles) with iron sights . . . or could be adapted to a scope . . . depending on the scope's height. The cheek piece you made is from the pattern Littlef showed . . . and it was specifically created for the latter end of WW2 and the Korean war for our snipers who were using a scope on the M1 Garand. The cheek piece was made not to get your face in line with the iron sights . . . but was meant specifically to offset your face so you could make out the image in the offset scope that was used on the Garand. Just a little bit of history there. My cheek piece looks like this . . . May God bless, Dwight
  7. Looks good . . . May God bless, Dwight
  8. Beautiful . . . better than any I do . . . May God bless, Dwight
  9. You said you are interested in harness making. Assuming you want to dress and make your harness water resistant. Use 1 part (by weight) of neatsfoot oil to 1 part (by weight) of pure beeswax . . . heat in a double boiler type container. I use a glass jar set in water in an old small crock pot. It works wonders on all sorts of leather . . . belts, shoes, purses, harness, billfolds . . . the list is truly great. AND . . . it will not harm your leather. May God bless, Dwight
  10. Welcome Wolfago . . . Agostino . . . glad to have you as part of the group . . . enjoy yourself while you are here. May God bless, Dwight
  11. How soon would you like to have one there Chuck . . . ??? May God bless, Dwight
  12. Nice . . . check with Toledo Sewing Machines . . . got my servo motors both from there . . . They're one of the advertisers up at the top of the page. May God bless, Dwight
  13. I was in your searching idea a couple years ago . . . saw this sander . . . bought it . . . brought it home. It was about 150 dollars US then . . . 160 now My advice would be don't buy this. The drum oscillates up and down while rotating . . . which is great for doing wood projects . . . useless for leather . . . or at least what I do in leather. I have a little noisy 30 inch belt sander that works the very best for me. May God bless, Dwight
  14. Having all my electrician tools handy . . . a flat sided pair of side cutters works . . . I do my best to pull the two pieces apart just enough to get the nose of the cutters between the leather pieces . . . squeeze . . . push in . . . squeeze . . . slowly work in until I cut the rivet or pull the head off it. Never harms the surface or the back that way. May God bless, Dwight
  15. That definitely is a process what will deserve and receive some "experimentation". Thank you Klara for posting this . . . it made an otherwise hum drum day . . . a little more exciting. May God bless, Dwight
  16. Good job . . . I'm going to sometime later this spring do something similar for my Cowboy 4500 . . . I'm buried though right now. May God bless, Dwight
  17. I did all I could do to try to work out with the Sig . . . but I have neuropathy in my hands and feet. Both the Sig . . . and my Taurus G3C . . . the roughness of their frames was just too much for my hands. Sounds crazy . . . but it hurt my hands to shoot either one even with target loads . . . much less anything that was serious. Traded the G3C for an old slick Ruger . . . so between the drone and the Ruger . . . I'm OK now. But you seriously do have a good weapon there . . . if you can use it. May God bless, Dwight
  18. Don't know what happened to post I put up earlier . . . maybe didn't hit the right button. Anyway . . . am not a fan of the gun itself . . . sold mine to buy a drone with the proceeds . . . But you did one heck of a good job on the holster for it. I have one very close to that design in which I carry my Shield. Not really sure which NFL team would be tickled with your color choice . . . but whichever . . . the red and black would no doubt make em smile. Have fun with that vac bag system . . . it'll do you well. May God bless, Dwight
  19. Well . . . I guess I see it from the other side of the tracks . . . Nobody is going to grab my gun . . . unless they take it out of my hand. Reason?? I keep it securely and seriously out of sight to any and all who may be looking. I carry concealed . . . as do virtually all of my customers . . . and the only time a perp should even know we have a gun is when he is looking at the hole in the end of the barrel and wondering if it is a 9, a 40, a 10mm, a 45 . . . or one of them .50 cal sodbuster guns. I do fully appreciate the fact that there are people who would grab one any time they got the chance . . . and some of those folks are downright ugly, dirty, mean, and nasty. I truly believe the odds are in the favor of the guy who keeps his cool . . . like the dude down in Tx (?) last week . . . in the taco joint . . . dude comes in and robs all the patrons . . . including our hero. Our hero allows him to do what he wants until he seems to really threaten this other customer . . . hero pulls out the pistola and pops him 8 or 9 times . . . including a head buster on the ground. Perp had no clue if hero's gun was in a holster . . . on a clip . . . or what . . . until it was too late . . . lead was flying and he was doing a serious internal bleeding program. That is the scenario I make my customer's holsters for . . . keeping the peace thru effectively applied violence. May God bless, Dwight
  20. I guess I've been fortunate . . . never had anyone truly bust a gut going against my advice. But also . . . I only use these clips for smaller guns . . . and only if it is an IWB . . . like say a Shield . . . would not use it for a 1911 or a Python or anything similar in size and weight. May God bless, Dwight
  21. I found a really nice US Navy leather jacket . . . bought it . . . didn't notice the cigarette smell until I got home with it. Anyone got a foolproof way to clean it without hurting it?? Lady said it was her dad's but he did not wear it hardly at all . . . then when he lost a bunch of weight . . . never wore it again. Just need a bit of help on this one . . . thanks. May God bless, Dwight
  22. I don't get a lot of holster requests for clips . . . but this is the one I try my best to steer peopl to using. It's strong . . . but can be manipulated a tad looser . . . fits perfect over my CCW belts I make that generally are .200 inch thick . . . or thereabouts.. The little bump at the bottom of it keeps the holster from coming out of your pants if the draw is a little tight for one reason or another. . . and it won't "jump" out of your pants running or something else. You rivet it at the bottom . . . cut a little slot for that steel bump at the bottom . . . and let it come out of the holster leather about 3/8 of an inch from the top. I sell them mostly for single mag holders . . . they work great. I get em from Tandy. May God bless, Dwight
  23. Hello . . . Half a world away . . . under the North star . . . and the big dipper . . . But we say welcome . . . glad to have ya aboard. May God bless, Dwight
  24. I would rivet it to the front decorative piece on the holster . . . which in turn would be sewn on. But I would not buy that type of clip . . . they don't work very well for holsters. May God bless, Dwight
  25. DJI Phantom 4 . . . an expensive toy . . . working on getting my FAA license so I can use it commercially. Don't plan on doing any real "money" work . . . but their rule is hard, fast, and serious . . . have to have it . . . or else. Do you have one?? May God bless, Dwight
