  1. Damn Sanch...all that leather and knives too? Need another son? I'm a little older than 12 but I can mow!
  2. Looks great! I just made my first holster and knowing the challenge I had makes me appreciate some clean work even more.
  3. I'll second this! It sucks that we need a military and folks that have bled to fertilize our liberties but damn glad we do! Semper Fi!
  4. I used 7-9 oz shoulder with a 2-3 oz liner. The inside is mahogany (I love this color) and black on the outside. I used black lacing cord to stitch it all together. Observations, I need a belt loop slot punch bad, that is the sorriest part of the piece and I feel bad for it. I punched holes on each corner and then joined them with a utility knife. It worked but it is less than pretty. The retention is pretty good and you can only really shake it out if you are slinging on it pretty hard. The belt loop could have been a mm or 2 wider. I read that you want it snug so there isn't much if any play on the belt when you go to pull the gun out and I think I miscalculated for the thickness of the leather when I made the loop. It will probably loosen up some with use. On the wet forming, I had a hell of a time getting the ejection port and trigger wells to imprint. And when I did I had some additional tool marks that I didn't want or intend to remain. I have more tool marks around the edge and the loop too. I figure it gives it a bit of character and handmadeness even if it is amateur grade, which it is. Thanks to @JLSleather for the how to make a holster guide.
  5. I made a holster for a friend of mine. It was a lot of work and I learned quite a bit. There are a billion things I can see wrong with it, y'all know what I mean, but overall I think it came out pretty good.
  6. Killer work as usual man! It makes me want to quit, but it is sure fun to dream!
  7. You ain't the only one @alpha2! All the laser cut stuff looks so clean, not to mention the marking. It isn't a replacement for all the hand tooling but for something like cuts, holes, and a maker's mark, it is killer. I bet it smells like hell.
  8. That looks great man, even more so knowing its your first go at it.
  9. I keep getting an error when I try to post pics. I'll try and get them up when I get it figured out.
  10. That is a thing of sentiment and beauty!
  11. I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking about MTG boxes! I took one of the cardboard boxes and used it as a pattern for making them. I also have a pattern in the works for making a beveled corner box and also one of the boxes that you get at pre-release. I'll have to load a pic of my first box. It'll easily hold 3 sleeved up decks, I sew dividers in which is the toughest part.
  12. Man is that nice! Gorgeous even. Just curious since I've seen it on a few saddles on here, and I mean no disrespect, is there a reason not to dye them or is it a customer driven thing? It seems like of the recent saddle pics I've seen they were largely or completely undyed. Not that it looks bad but you'd think with all the colors available that natural would be one of the least chosen options. Unless the customer wants to go after their own story with whatever wear/patina happens to be.
  13. Fiebings turquoise is very close to baby blue in my opinion. This is after 2 or 3 coats, can't remember which. If this isn't baby blue enough you could thin it down and get there I'm sure.
  14. It's hard to class up an Omega but your strap does. That is really nice use of contrast and the band appears flawless.
  15. Looks good! You planning on dyeing it or just gonna leave it au naturale? It oughta last a couple lifetimes too.
