  1. Roger that Doc. Arthritis and my time is worth something. I bought a cobra class 3 and never looked back. Been about 2 years and many holsters, belts, knife sheaths, axe covers, and who knows what else. Wouldn't have been able to do all that by hand. But, I still do the occasional handstitched item that is just to small or awkward to fit in the machine.
  2. Seal the dickens out of it and slick it down.
  3. Sweet!
  4. Very pretty and well done. I agree with the perimeter stitching as well. But still, very well done.
  5. I'm in the process of doing a bunch of coasters for the local golf course. Definitely stamping them, not carving, except for the border. My attempts at carving and tooling remind me why I had a pretty non-artistic job most of my life. I can visualize and create just fine, but can't seem to draw a stick man without a ruler. Sheridan type/style floral is definitely harder for me.
  6. Very clean, well done. Welcome from the "blue hole" of Washington!
  7. Very nice, looks like a Mora.
  8. I usually offer a coaster or a skillet handle when I deliver a holster.
  9. Yeah that again, but over my bench.
  10. I can change them up. Going for groups of 30, have until the middle of April to finish. But yes, lots of the same thing.
  11. It is, Ol' Crabby. Cedars at Dungeness in Sequim Washington
  12. I am retired andwork at a local golf course doing odds and ends, club repair, golf cart door repair etc. Pays a little money and a lot of free golf. A while back I gave our golf pro a set of coasters for his new office. I've done ball markers for them in the past so I have the logo they paid for to do those for them. A bit later, he asked what I could do more of the coasters for. Seems he got a lot of remarks about them. I looked at it and gave him a price thinking I might do a dozen or so for the pro shop. He wants 340 for a golf tournament in April. Glad I've got some time and didn't go cheap. Cudos to theleatherguy.com for having this many in stock and heavy leather, very pleased with the quality. Gotta get back to work! I'll postmore pics after they are finished. Don't overlook gifting as a possible seque to future business.
  13. Not bad, the more you do the better you become. Also, sharpen that awl! I thought mine was okay then saw a post about sharpening them. When I took a good look at mine it was really rough. I went through a very good sharpening and stropping and it now glides in and out, very little pushing. Really helps with straight holes and on hard leather. Strop it like your knife. You'll be surprised.
  14. 7.5 inches. I thought the same thing about a cobra class 3 and 4. Bought the class 3. Every time I do a large revolver I wish I had spent the extra money.
  15. Very nice Chuck. I did a pair for the young couple across the street last summer. Nice to do something g li,e this from time to time.
  16. Good find. I'll have to go to our local supply and see if they have anything similar.

Pretty cool! Want to make one for myself.
  18. Welcome! Can't wait to see the seats.
  19. Welcome. Lots of possibilities.
  20. I use a heavy paper clip through the buckle end hole and hang it to dry in the work area.
  21. I've done several glocks, 1911s, etc with the lower rail. Heck, my Springfield has one and that holster is worn a lot, and shows little signs of wear. When I wet mold them, I move them in and out several times. It loosens them up around the lower rail (I hope that's what you are talking about) and I see no signs of significant abrasion. I get most of my retention from the trigger guard, ejection port, and sweat guard.
  22. Very nice!
