  1. I have used wet/dry sandpaper in the past. Starting with 600 and going as far as you want. I just taped them to the table, sprayed a bit of water on them and went at it till I got it sharp. On the inside I used a popsicle stick with sandpaper wound around it till it fit. I have found d a Tormek grinder recently that makes the outside much faster to do. I also sent back a C.S. Osborne punch. Not impressed at all. The one one I got from Weaver was wicked sharp on arrival.
  2. I can draw a stick figure, but I need a ruler. Dang, that's nice. You can be proud of that. I'm sure she will be.
  3. Yep, very nice.

    I want to post...

I use photo puma to compress my photos. It's free and easy to use.
  5. Love my vacuum set up. Harbor freight pump is still going strong in its second year. And I dont worry about crushing a plastic fantastic.
  6. Nice work.
  7. I have a rubber (I guess) poundo board I bought from tandy several years ago. I bought a new one last year, but it is still sitting on the shelf. The old one still works. A lot of folks just use a thick piece of scrap leather. I actually have a punching/setting station set up. I got a knife block from good will, turned it around, drilled a bunch of holes in it, and that is where my hole, half round, corner, snap and rivet setters, and a few other odds and ends sit. I have a piece of 6x12x1/2" steel next to ths poundo pad with a light over it. When I build a chest rig holster, I make several straps and connector pieces that need rivet and snap holes, the ends rounded, etc. Then I have to put all that hardware in. I have a parts bin next to punches with rivets, snaps and Chicago screws I use. A piece of peg board above holds the belt loop punches, screwdrivers, and a. Unch of other stuff that really need a better home. But, it is very nice to have it all in one place within arms reach.
  8. Very nice! I made a pair of plain ones just to get the process down. Going to have to improve my tooling!
  9. Nice job on both. My son bought some fancy knives and I did something similar. Didn't think of lettering.
  10. I've thought of HDPE, I wonder if you could run a sander over it when it got rough.

    Two watch straps

Pretty, makes me want to wear a watch.
  12. Similar experience today. Ordered supplies, shipped by fed ex. Got a text today telling it had been delayed and would be delivered tomorrow not today. We leave for an appt and come home to a notice on the door saying we tried to deliver, but yo weren't home.
  13. I've been getting the paste board from between the toilet paper at Costco. Works well for patterns, good for staining, big enough for most things, and best of all, FREE!
  14. I go to thrift stores and good will. Occasionally you can find them there. Otherwise, mywife is a quilter and use her hand me downs.
  15. Very nice, and should hold up to abuse well.
  16. Solid work there. Nice job!

    Dog Collars

Dang I like these. Do you give lessons? Lettering is giving me fits!
  18. I use a 1 3/4 in belt slot punch from weaver. I recently found a "wood is good" maul from a local "vintage shop" for $20. Probably not that old, I can still find the website. It's one of the larger mauls, works very well, but not as expensive as BK at all!
  19. Yeah, me too. Skulls are just not my style. But, I'm older, soooooo. I really like the work, and the idea behind it. The grommet allows for a connection to carabiner or other attachment point that you can use. Also, makes for a smooth fit in the pocket. Nice work! You could put a daisy on it and sell it to the ladies if you wanted!
  20. Dang, that's a shame to hear. I remember seeing them when they first came out. Even tried a few stitches at the local tandy. Was slightly impressed, but not 1500 impressed. Glad I waited and bought the Cobra. Hope this works out for you. Please post the fu.
  21. Me too, got a few in my golf group that like these things. Nice work by the way!
  22. I looked on the LMC site and didn't see them. Thanks, Bob has replied and I'm on my way! Sorry to hijack the thread..
  23. I want one of thse presser feet for my class 3. I can see a lot of applications for it. I sent a PM, hope cowboy sees it. Nice work!

    My Bible cover

    Very well done.
  25. I need to spend more time on carving. I build a lot of holsters, but primarily basket weave the reinforcing piece. Very well done.
