  1. Which bobbins are you using,I've had people w/the same problem that bought cheap bobbin off flea-bay,they were out of round.Try pulling on the bobbin thread n& see if there's any tight spots.
  2. If you want to nice looking straight stitch use a D point,if you want a hand stitch (zig-zag) look use the LR point.
  3. Singer had an oil can that would set there.
  4. Loose threads on the bottom like that is one of 2-things #1 threaded incorrectly, make sure you go around the 2nd tension on the side 1&1/2x when threading. #2 too loose top tension, you also need to be sure & hold on to the needle thread for the first 3-4 stitches when you start sewing. So if it's threaded correctly tighten you top tension 1/2 turn @ a time.
  5. Most people use #277 on sheaths & #138 on the thinner leather.
  6. I don't know what the big deal is where it's made?I think that unless your using it 24/7 in production you will never notice a difference. We sold some new 206's to NASA over a year ago & they ordered 2 more this year.We also have canvas & upholstery shops that run them pretty hard & they hold up great. It has more to do with how they are oiled than anything else.
  7. I don't know much about this machine but have one like it that sews.I thought it might have been made to sew harness since it has such a high foot lift.I don't have any manuals for it.
  8. Yes,this adjustment is made to close if your sewing slow & open it if your sewing faster. Is it closed now?
  9. Back in the day they can get away with alittle advertising hipe.It does 3 things cuts, bevels & skives, so yes you have what Landis called a 3 in 1.
  10. Hey Colt we'll keep one ready for ya! We had a customer that makes holsters & belts tell that the machine paid for itself in less than 3-months & he's had it now for over 3 yrs.
  11. Maybe this will help?
  12. Take the feed dog off, wash it w/alcohol & fill in the valleys w/JB Weld or smooth the points off w/a Dremel. It won't feed good w/o it.
  13. It skipped a stitch & cut a strand of thread. You need to make sure you have enough foot pressure,#2 could be needle or hook timing.
  14. Hey Colt, I should of mentioned I'll be getting some towards the end of the week.
  15. You Sir are correct but even leather shortens up in reverse w/o the feed dogs so if leather doesn't reverse properly,"stickier" beta sure won't.What is strange about ALL 441's even Juki is the top of the needlebar rock frame is offset. It's offset towards the back so it makes the feed harder to be more consistant in reverse.A machine like a Juki 563 the pivot @ the top is centered & should feed more evenly in reverse w/o a feed dog.
  16. The problem is the feed dogs are out & he's sewing Beta which is real sticky,it is real hard to get the stitches to line up in reverse in leather w/o the feed dog,but beta is impossible w/o the feed dogs.they lift the material off the slide plate & help with the feed.So use Wiz's idea & turn it around if you need to backstitch w/o the feed dogs.We always test the machines with the feed dogs in.Now if there was a Teflon slotted needle plate made it would help the reverse stitch line up.
  17. And they don't sew any thicker than the 4500 & since they cost so much more we are selling the few we have left & do not plan on reordering. They come in 12,16 & 25" long arms.
  18. You need to double check your threading(looping & bunching underneath is upper tension) & make sure your going around the 2nd tension on the side 1&1/2x.also make sure to hold the needle thread for 3-4 stitches when you start sewing. HTH
  19. Looks like a pro sewed that belt !
  20. Wiz, Ferdco made the stitch groove foot years ago & they copied it from the old machines like the Champion or Landis. They work pretty good going straight but leaves a lot of unwanted marking when turning corners.
  21. Ron, I thought by know you would know you can call anytime you need to with a question. We have already talked 5-6 times & went over everything with you about needles, thread, sewing thickness & etc.Yes,the Cowboy manual is Chinese that's why we sent the other one.You did get 2-manuals correct?.It is just a real basic fairly easy machine to operate not much different than the 1541S.Just able to handle thinner material better. Here's our needle & thread chart maybe that will help? http://www.tolindsewmach.com/thread-chart.html
  22. This is almost always when either the top tension is to loose or not threaded correctly.Do you know you need to go around the 2nd tension 1&1/2?
  23. IDK what's wrong but the vid plays on my old computer w/windows 8?And it's upright? Here's a shorter vid. IMG_2229 (1).MOV
