  1. l2bravo, It's been reported to me that IF you talk to your machine nice BOTH when you make your sample & when you move on to the finished products you'll have much nicer results!!
  2. Great !! Give us a call if you ever have any questions.
  3. The 1000H are approx. 1/4" longer than the 97 needle so they can be shortened to work.We have some in stock in #26 & 28 & they only come in a round point.
  4. Yes,Sir,I'm looking @ a box of 135x17 & that's what it says on it !!They used to be made in the Czech Republic until last year sometime, they seem to work OK !!
  5. The Groz-Beckert's are made in India,Schmetz are still made in Germany we just got some 794S in that say it on the package(they have 4-15 date on the package). The leather needle we sell a lot of is the 794S which has a spade point on it that really makes a nice looking stitch in leather,I think looks better than the DIA point(which we also stock in Organ) which seems to make alittle wider hole on the sides than the "S" point. Some Organ needles are now made in Vietnam.
  6. They must of had the belt marked wrong. All the 153's take the same belt & I just checked a #224195 we have in stock & it's 25 3/8" & has 41 teeth. The belt they sent you is for a postbed 168,138 machine. Uwe, Id say the parts list is wrong. The one you mentioned is for the 47W & would be shorter than what he needs,it only has 38 teeth.
  7. pcox is correct the 188 has a narrow(standard) base,the 88 wide base.
  8. I have a Pfaff & it looks a lot like it but the controls are different.I just took a guess on Durkopp because of the way the controls look on it.
  9. It is similar to a 107w,143w machine but I think it's a Durkopp.Or maybe Adler machine.Singer never had the lever sticking out or had a zig-zag adjuster like that.
  10. The bobbins 204370 were made for the other type of bobbincase that fits in the 136(see pic). They still will work with the style he has but will fit loose & can spin causing backlash. So you might want to put some felt in the bottom of where the bobbin sets. The bobbins he is using could of been made wrong.
  11. Wilcox & Gibbs had them & since Singer was never one to be outdone, they probably copied them so they could bid against them for the garment industry?
  12. Constabulary, that's a good idea too!! I forgot & I just had a guy in last week that did that very same thing to his machine. He just bought one of those screws a few weeks before & I told him he didn't need it & he thought well if the factory put it there it should be on the machine. So he puts it on & then overtightens it & when he brought it in after working on the machine for a month he wanted us to fix it.I loosened while he was still here & loosened it up.
  13. The gear reducer servo is no longer being made & yes they were more $$ than the FS-550 we now sell,so all we have is the FS-550 which will need a speed reducer($135.00) to run the 205 @ a slow enough speed & have enough power.
  14. Maybe the bearing by the handwheel is bad? Slide it off alittle & see how it spins.
  15. Sometimes pieces of the old belt & I've even seen a few teeth from the belt in the groove on the pulleys,so you might want to slide the bellt off & check. You can scrape it out w/a screwdriver.
  16. That screw is a 9/64 40tpi.
  17. I should of mentioned that if you keep sewing with them big loops like that you'll probably end up jamming it up again.Don't forget to hold the needle thread the first 3 stitches when you start sewing.
  18. You can make a pin out of a nail,it needs to be 57mm long. You can bend the bracket on the back of the tension unit to adjust it.
  19. Make sure your top thread is threaded correctly,(pulled down in between the discs) or else it's too loose tension on top.
  20. Yes,it's a Champion Shoe machine,if you buy it you should try to get a couple more so you'll have parts as the (parts) were discontinued years ago.And the aftermarket never made them like they do for the Landis #12.
  21. Put some on the groove the hook spins on (where the piece of thread is) all the way around, take the belt off & rack the machine back & forth w/your hand.Once the oil gets in there it'll make it slippery enough for the hook to spin.
  22. There's a hole behind the spool pin on top that you put a screwdriver in to turn the screw to the left to loosen the foot pressure. If you loo on the back of the machine you can see the flat spring & where the screw pushes in the middle.
  23. Steve, Glad to hear your back BUT I didn't know you were in the hospital. Hope you mend up quick !!
  24. Yes,those should work.
  25. Art, Thanks for your input,I was on here yesterday afternoon & then this morning (when I noticed it) He has contacted us NOW & said he got his machine this morning so all is well.
